Happy 'Hump Day' from Norman, Oklahoma! Our podcast with the legendary Stan 'The Lariat' Hansen is getting awesome results and the Badman from Borger's honesty and openness is refreshing as he has no agenda and has had a career that many wrestlers could only imagine in their wildest dreams. I hope that you listen to it at podcastone.com and iTunes. It's a FREE podcast that is undoubtedly #SlobberKnockerAudio! Let's grill....
Talked with @MarkMaddenX last evening for a Ross Report Podcast that will drop on October 21 and we had a helluva, open honest and no holds barred conversation on a litany of topics including how Mark would book Ric Flair in WWE, the Lesnar/Heyman dynamic, Mark's days broadcasting in WCW, his Twitter flare up with Vince Russo, some amazing Brian Pillman stories and the overall state of the business which paints a somewhat challenging picture for most wrestling companies.
Remember that you can subscribe for FREE to our podcast via iTunes and get the Ross Report every week at no cost and you won't miss an episode if you do subscribe.
All our podcast guests through the end of the year are listed on the homepage this site.
Getting some interesting nibbles on some international JR shows/appearances for 2015. Got a feeling that it's going to be a busy year.
Happy to hear that 2014 WWE Hall of Famer @JakeSnakeDDT is improving in a Las Vegas hospital. He's off the ventilator for now and I'm hopeful that he walks out of the hospital a healthy man.
WWE's Night of Champions PPV in a few weeks headlined by Lesnar vs Cena in the rubber match for the WWE title is by far the strongest match on the card which provides Sheamus vs. Cesaro US Title bout and/or Ziggler vs. Miz IC Title bout a dark horse chance to over achieve what is expected of them and turn heads. Their only enemy is to be saddled with not enough time to tell a viable story.
Support @ImpactWrestling tonight on @SpikeTV especially because of the ladies match among other potentially good bouts including the talented Bobby Rood vs. Eric Young who always busts his ass in the ring. @gailkimITSME is one of my all time favorite female talents and is a credit to the business in a multitude of ways.
If I see another "distraction finish" due to music being played I may soil my Hanes. That's in general within the business. We can be more creative than that, can't we?
A fan asked me a question at Ask JR which is our Q&A's here on the site about why the Bella's were getting SO much TV time. Simple. It's about promoting the premier of a new season of E's Total Divas this Sunday night by and large. They are having a 'personal issue.'
The most potentially compelling female issue on RAW, in my humble opinion, is the Stephanie McMahon/ AJ Lee issue. Their promos would be fantastic plus a match would be 'must see' for me because Steph knows how to be a better heel than the vast majority of the men on the WWE roster.
The often discussed, much anticipated Vince Russo appearance/conversation on the Ross Report is going to drop on podcastone.com and iTunes next Tuesday September 9 at 9 pm eastern time on podcastone. com and at iTunes. Yes, we talk about him creating the Oklahoma character for Professor Ed Ferrara to play back in the Nitro days on WCW TV. We end up having a helluva conversation even though we disagree on much of our individual, wrestling philosophy.
So, Michael Sam is out and Jerry Springer is in next week on RAW. Nice payday and exposure for the 70 year old talk show host who actually tapes his TV show in Stamford, Ct. Unfortunately some fans will 'damn' this segment before it even airs which isn't fair but it's reality.
As I said on a recent Ross Report Podcast, I'm of the mindset that WWE would serve its self well if they had separate announce teams for RAW and Smackdown. I've expressed this sentiment for months. I'm reluctant to talk announcing because it's often times thought that I'm angling for work which is laughably ridiculous. It's just my opinion that WWE shows need different sound tracks to give each program some exclusive identity. I'd have @MichaelCole anchor the flagship RAW broadcast with @JCLayfield and @JerryLawler and utilize @WWETomPhillips to anchor Smackdown perhaps with @ReneeYoungWWE before another network nabs her. Adding a third member of the Smackdown crew would be fine too as it's good to experiment to see where the chemistry exists.
Again, I honestly say that @MichaelCole is much better suited to navigate today's sports entertainment presentation than I ever was. I was a wrestling play by play guy of which there's little demand for these days on the biggest stages. Times change and it's challenging for some WWE broadcasts to sound more like an infomercial than an entertaining, 'sporting' event with so many agendas and masters to serve.
I sincerely wish all the talents broadcasting wrestling in today's world the best because those days were the best of my life within the wrestling biz but, again, I will reiterate that I have no desire to re-engage. Just too many new, irons in the fire. Nonetheless, someone will turn what I've said here into some sort of covert message or accuse me of not being truthful but don't waste too much of your time on that concept and finish your homework or jump back on the internet.
On Saturday September 13 from noon-2 pm I will be appearing at the Lindsey Street Homeland Store @HomelandStores in Norman on the day that OU hosts Tennessee on the gridiron. We'll have FREE food, great deals on JR's products, FREE photos & autographs and much more. If you are coming to the game or will be in the area please drop by and say hello and sample our cooking. The Lindsey Street Homeland store is right on the way to the stadium which is only about 5 minutes away. Hope to see lots of WWE, OU, Tennessee Vols fans on hand.

Still working on latest, foxsports.com piece on Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman. I think that you will enjoy it and it embraces our recruitment of Brock and how Paul has influenced Lesnar's career both in and out of the ring in a non show biz manner. We's recruitment of Brock is a great story in itself. Mark Madden and I discussed what happens if the fans turn Lesnar 'face and if Heyman would stay with Lesnar or separate himself from Brock and dedicate himself to destroying the Beast Incarnate. Interesting debate that will air on Oct 21 on the Ross Report.
