First IWR Champion Crowned After Two Brutal Matches In Same Day

There are those who would say that Jerry Bostic is a spoiled brat. There are others who would say that Bostic is a skilled performer. It would seem to just be a matter of perspective.

People who were more inclined to believe the idea that Bostic is a brat may have had their opinions adjusted on August 3rd as Bostic competed in not just one but two brutal matches. While the record books will show that he was victorious in both, the toll taken on is body may tell a completely different story, perhaps one that marks the end of his career.

A few weeks before the event occurred, IWR commissioner Eddie Adamson announced that the first ever match between Al Farat and Jerry Bostic would take place on this date and that the winner of that match would take the final slot in the 4-Way TLC Match to crown the first IWR Champion. Bostic had been UWF06 Champion in 2012, but suffered a severe injury to his knee which put him out of competition for over 2 years and in that time, the company shut down. So he wanted to prove more than anything that he was still the champion.

To do that, he had to take on Al Farat, one of the most devious men to compete in any ring over the past 25 years. But even Farat indicated that Bostic was basically the lesser of two evils as far as the crowd was concerned. The match between them, which was a No DQ/Falls Count Anywhere Match, quickly spilled to the outside were it wiped out the ringside table. Lots of brutality boht inside and outside of the ring culminated with Bostic setting up a table in the ring. Farat and Bostic both battled around it until Farat knocked Bostic onto it. Farat then climbed up to the second rope and went for an elbow drop on Bostic, but he rolled and Farat went through the table, incapacitating himself. Bostic was quick to seize the opportunity and pinned the Crown Prince of Crimson for the win, earning the opportunity to compete in the 4-Way Ladder Match.

After some more action passed, it was time for the main event. And what a main event it was. Four of the top competitors in the Southern Oklahoma region would all vye for the chance to become the first IWR Champion. First out, Ky-Ote, a man who had won the UWF06 championship back in 2007, but never made it to the top in the area again. Bostic came out second and was very focused on regaining what he never lost two years prior. Next out, Cambridge. A huge monster of a man who has never been champion in the area. And finally, "The Texas Gladiator", Griffin. A man who had held many titles for UWF06, 3DWand TCBW, but could never capture the Heavyweight Title in any of those federations. The desire for all of these individuals to capture the title became apparently very quickly as the match almost immediately spilled outside the ring. Ky-Ote threw Bostic onto the ring announce table, completing the damage that had begun earlier during Bostic's previous match. Ky-Ote also brought a ladder into the ring and was the first to try and ascend up it and capture the title, but Bostic was quick to cut that off. Griffin set up a table at ringside (which would become important later in the match) and then went into the ring where he backdropped Ky-Ote onto the ladder! This temporarily took Ky-Ote out of the match, but opened an opportunity for Cambridge to try and ascend to the top. He was stopped by Griffin, who powerbombed Cambridge to the ring. Ky-Ote, who had been busted open after the ladder drop, made a second attempt to climb the ladder, but Bostic caught him with a chairshot across the back, who then received one from Cambridge as he tried to do what he had stopped Ky-Ote from doing. Cambridge then lodged a chair in the corner and Irish-whipped Bostic into it before completing the trifecta of chair-shots-to-the-back as he got one from Griffin.

Seeing that he was the only active person in the ring, Griffin climbed the ladder and was literally inches from becoming the first champion before being pulled down by his trunks by Ky-Ote. Ky-Ote then mustered every bit of energy in his body to try and climb the ladder, but his journey was cut short when Bostic speared him in mid-climb!! Cambridge set up a second table inside the ring and kept Bostic from reentering the match, then received a chairshot from Ky-Ote to the head before collapsing to the outside. Ky-Ote put Griffin on the table outside (that Griffin had set up himself) and attempted to splash him through it from the second rope, but the table did not break and Ky-Ote bounced off of Griffin and onto the floor. Bostic took this opportunity to come around to the same side of the floor as Ky-Ote and Griffin, bringing a belt and whipping Ky-Ote like a dog! But Ky-Ote was able to relieve Bostic of that belt and return the favour, much to Bostic's chagrin.

Seeking more destruction, Griffin set up a second table in the ring, but soon found himself in the same situation he was in on the outside. But history repeated itself in full form as once again, the table did not break as Ky-Ote came crashing down on Griffin's body. Rather than be relieved, Griffin appeared to be outraged and began to unleash chairshots on both Bostic and Cambridge, then forecfully put Cambridge through the table. This time it broked, but it created a sharp, jagged hole that sliced up the right shoulder area of Bostic's back. With bodies scattered everywhere, it was almost any man's game at this point and amazingly, the person able to muster the strength to climb the ladder was the one who was most seriously injured as Jerry Bostic, bleeding profusely from his back, pulled himself up the ladder and unhooked the belt from above before collapsing on top of the ladder, having used every last bit of energy he seemed to have.

Commissioner Eddie Adamson and referee Alex Saints entered the ring after the match was over to check on Bostic's physical condition and help him down from the ladder. And then, in one of the most despicable acts ever committed by one human to another, Al Farat entered the ring and threw a fireball in the face of the already injured Bostic. Bostic was quickly rushed to the hospital where his wounds and burns were treated. At this time, he is still not medically cleared to compete, but it is safe to say that Bostic will do whatever is necessary to be ready by August 23rd as IWR comes to Durant. And Jerry Bostic, the first IWR Champion, comes with revenge on his mind.
