The Scott Steiner vs. Jerry Lawler match that WWE filmed for a future Lawler DVD project happened back on July 10th in Memphis, TN and saw Lawler win by DQ when a wrestler named Dustin Starr interfered. The Memphis WildFire Wrestling event was reportedly put on by Lawler?s son Kevin. Around 500 people attended and it was standing room only. At one point during the match, Lawler threw a fireball at Steiner and before the match began, Steiner threw a beer at a fan. No word yet on what footage WWE plans on using or when the DVD will be released.

There is speculation that WWE retired the World Heavyweight Title belt, or the ?big gold belt?, on last night?s RAW in Richmond, VA. As seen before the main event, WWE World Heavyweight Champion John Cena met Ric Flair on the stage and let him raise the ?big gold belt? in the air. Cena then told Flair to keep the belt and Flair left with it. Several fans pointed out that JBL made a reference to there only being one title earlier in the show. For what it?s worth, F4Wonline.com recently reported that WWE was planning on keeping both belts around because it?s two pieces of merchandise that can be sold, among other reasons. PWInsider.com couldn?t confirm the belt is retired and as of this writing, WWE has made no mention of the belt?s status. When Flair returned backstage from the segment with Cena, he gave the belt back to WWE and did not leave the building with it.

It was noted that fans at RAW in Richmond, VA last night booed after the Sting WWE 2K15 video aired because it appeared first that he may be debuting live in the arena. Regarding the commercial for Sting?s inclusion in the game, 2K reportedly spent $200,000 to produce it. Regarding Sting being in WWE 2K15, both the black & white Sting and the ?surfer? Sting will be available.

American Icon Autographs has announced that wrestling icon Sting will be joining WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan at their store in San Diego, CA on July 27th for a public signing. The "Beyond The Ring" special that airs on the WWE Network this Saturday night at 8pm Eastern/7pm Central features Dusty Rhodes and is the documentary portion of his 2006 DVD. The synopsis reads "See how a common man made it to the top of the sports entertainment industry in this tell all feature."

Michael Hayes worked last Saturday?s WWE live event at Madison Square Garden in New York, NY. He was giving music and production cues. We don?t know if this is related but there were a few video-related mistakes early in the show, including Jack Swagger?s Titantron playing before Rusev came out. Swagger didn?t actually appear until after Rusev?s win over R-Truth.

Jim Ross noted in a recent blog that WWE pushing back filming of "Tough Enough" had forced he and Steve Austin to postpone some plans they had. Word is that Ross and Austin were looking to debut a two-man show in Las Vegas, NV this past week in conjunction with UFC 175, but Austin couldn?t commit to the project due to other commitments possibly happening, which ended up falling through. Ross and Austin could end up doing a two-man show in San Jose, CA during WrestleMania 31 weekend or in other markets. JR is finished with the one-man tour until 2015 and is also working on his autobiography. Ross does not have a publishing deal yet but is working with Scott Williams, who worked on books for Jim Duggan, Bill Watts and Terry Funk.

Jim Ross will be taping a podcast with Tony Schiavone tonight for an air date of August 19th. He has a show with Sting on July 29th and the second part of his Kurt Angle show is out now. Ross also mentioned he's in talks of his first MMA broadcasting assignment and that a deal could be finalized in the next few days. He teased "My request for my broadcast partner might be a jaw dropper for some."

As of Friday of last week, Mick Foley was on day 201 of his #ShowMeTheSanta challenge, where he wears something Santa Claus or Christmas related for 365 days. Foley says he will have a big announcement on his ?I Am Santa Claus? documentary in a few weeks.

The Miami Herald recently spoke with actor Jason Momoa, star of WWE Studios? new Road to Paloma movie. He was asked about being a WWE fan. He said "I am a fan, but I have a 5-year-old and 6-year-old. I can?t even watch TV or read a book right now. That was fun when I was younger. I met Hacksaw [Jim Duggan] at one of these conventions. I was pretty excited about it. I liked him, Jimmy ?Superfly? Snuka. There were a lot of wrestlers I liked. I like watching the real warriors out there. I like watching UFC. I like watching boxing. I like watching those old samurai and martial arts movies. Kurt Angle revealed on a recent "Ross Report" with Jim Ross that he has not signed a contract renewal with TNA because he?s weighing his options. Angle said he thinks he?ll be ready to wrestle in October but admitted that he?s not able to compete like he used to and feels a lot of aches and pains, especially since he?s not using pain medication now. Regarding Sting, Angle said he heard Sting did not like the contract renewal that TNA offered him last year. Angle said Sting still does not want to give up his career. Angle added that he would love to see Sting have a run in WWE.
