A Surprise Turn To The Dark Side For Tyson Jaymes

A Surprise Turn To The Dark Side For Tyson Jaymes

Posted: Jun 27th 2014 By: Michael Hunt

People who know Tyson Jaymes well know that he is not one to hold back his feelings about issues.

For the most part, Tyson is a jovial, supportive and fun guy. Obviously his opponents often feel differently. But for quite a while now, things appear to have been building up inside Tyson and two weeks ago, they finally boiled over, leaving Tyson with a new attitude and fans feeling abandoned.

Tyson had returned to MSWA at the beginning of 2014, but never really seemed to be able to get is feet underneath him. Loss after loss stacked up against various members of the MSWA Roster. Through it all, though, Tyson seemed to remain optimistic. But sources in the locker room reported that Tyson was unhappy.

Things seemed to turn in a different path on April 27th, when Tyson scored his first victory back in MSWA against SWCW Champion Chaz Sharpe. This led to a rematch at the next show, which Tyson lost, but his showing was enough to earn him a spot in a Triple Threat Match to determine a #1 contender to the MSWA Title. Again, Tyson was unable to pull out a victory in that battle and again, the frustration built.

But apparently, something completely snapped in Tyson prior to the show on June 15th. When ring announcer C. M. Burnham brought Glen Steel out for an interview, Tyson interrupted the procedings before Steel could get a word out. Tyson quickly addressed Burnham's comment that Steel had been back for a brief time and had quickly risen in the MSWA rankings, which seemed to imply some jealousy. Tyson acknowledged that Glen had some knee problems in the recent past and that was what had kept him out, but then said that he had broken multiple ribs at an MSWA event and still competed on te show. Then, the real bombshell as Tyson said he felt like perhaps he had just been hired at MSWA as a result of affirmative action and said the key word there was action. Out of nowhere, Tyson attacked Steel and the two brawled in the ring until MSWA owner Bad Boy came out and ordered an official match to be held between them. The match clearly showed that Tyson was thinking on a very different level, taking cheap shots and resorting to tactics very uncharacteristic of him. But Steel held his own and matched everything that Tyson dished out. Eventually, both men ended up on the outside of the ring and battled to the dressing area, resulting in a double count-out. Nothing was resolved, but many new issues were opened up.

The Tyson Jaymes of old is obviously one and the one standing in his place is certainly demonstrating a new attitude. Glen Steel would surely love to provide an attitude adjustment at the next encounter between these two men.
