Comings And Goings Severely Impact IZW

Comings And Goings Severely Impact IZW

Posted: Jun 25th 2014 By: CMBurnham

It was a huge night of surprises for the fans of Impact Zone Wrestling on June 14th. A night of pain, a night of returns and a night when once again Impact, Inc. proved that they just did not care.

The night began with Johnny Z celebrating with new t-shirts for his followers only to have Erica point out that the t-shirts said Impact, Inc., not Impact Elite. Johnny said that was because Impact Elite was false. This was obviously upsetting to the Co-Commissioner of IZW since that faction was her idea, but before she could really spend any more time expressing her discontent, IZW Champion Double D burst into the Impact, Inc. office and began to attack everyone. This misguided effort did not last long and quickly the numbers overwhelmed D. Impact, Inc. then grabbed D and headed toward the ring. Once in the ring, a beating commenced that was more brutal than any other beating in IZW history. 6 Big Boots from Johnny Z to Double D, hitting all four corners, were delivered by the time he was done. The broken body of Double D lay slumped in the corner, like a marionette with its strings cut. Even Erica was dismayed by the actions she saw and attempted repeatedly to persuade Johnny to stop, but there was no stopping Impact, Inc. A message was sent and Double D was the stationery. After the assault, paramedics were called and Double D was taken to the hospital. His medical status at the time of this writing is still uncertain.

That was certainly some bad news, but IZW also saw the return of 3 former competitors. The first came in the form of former Tag Team Champion Gary Tool. Tool encountered IZW Impact Division Champion Randy Price backstage and attempted to put the Old School Suckas back together, but Price wanted nothing to do with his former coach. Price was still quite bitter about Tool simply walking away from IZW two years prior (due, in part, to some medical issues). Price had little time for Tool as he had a title defense against Drake Gallows, a defense that he had persuaded Johnny Z to change the rules on by removing the stipulation that all Impact Division Title defenses should be held under Impact Rules. Price would go on to lose that match by disqualification, but still retain the title and that brought out Gary Tool, who still could not believe the way is protege was acting. Tool did not have much time to question the tactics of Price before Impact, Inc. arrived again and Johnny Z declared that since Gary Tool was back in the Impact Arena, obviously he wanted to compete. So Tool was placed in a Handicap match against IZW Tag Team Champions Team Bull. John then showed what appeared to be a bit of fairness by saying that Tool could attempt to make it a tag team by having Randy Price as his partner. Tool tried, but Price did what he said Tool did two years prior: he walked away.

As much as Mark Wilson said it was becoming the Gary Tool show, in truth, it was becoming the Impact, Inc. show as Johnny Z had promised to reveal his team for the Impact Chamber event. First, he announced that the Chamber event would be held on August 9 so as to coincide with the celebration for his birthday the previous day. Secondly, to the surprise of no one, his team was made up of the other members of Impact, Inc. as well as O'Malley. But after he brought his team to the ring and began extolling their virtues to the crowd, the familiar music of Jermaine Johnson played and the Leader of the Hype Section made his return to the Impact Arena. Johnson was greeted warmly by his former Impact, Inc. teammates and immediately, Johnny Z offered him a spot in the Impact Chamber match. But Johnson did not want that. Cutting him off before an explanation could be made, Johnny said that since Double D had been put out of IZW, he could arrange things so that Jermaine could once again be IZW Champion. Johnson appreciated that, but said he did not come back to IZW to join Impact, Inc. or do the bidding of John. He left because he did not feel that he was living up to the expectations of Johnny Z. Now that he was back, he knew he had business to do, but he planned to do it on his own. He simply felt that Johnny Z deserved to hear that face-to-face. Despite the good intentions, Johnny Z made it pretty clear that if Johnson was not with them, he was against them and Johnson understood that. John then let Jermaine walk to the back unscathed, but that act of kindness was quickly rescinded as shortly after exiting the ramp, Johnson came careening through the curtain and was followed by Convict. Convict then stood at the top of the entrance ramp as Impact, Inc. unleashed another gang-style attack, this time on their former member. When it was over, Johnson had to be helped to the back, his surprise homecoming ruined by Impact, Inc.

But the biggest surprise of all occurred at the very end of the sow. After Gary Tool had beaten Team Bull by disqualification, Jermaine Johnson came to the rescue of Tool to prevent another beat down. Johnny Z ordered an impromptu tag team match with Team Bull facing Tool and Johnson and the tag team champions once again found themselves on the losing end. But as Impact, Inc. attempted to finish the job they bean earlier on Johnson, the lights mysteriously went out and when they came back on, Johnny Z found himself in the clutches of Kevin Morgan!! Morgan delivered a swift chokeslam and then the lights went out again. When they came back on, The Bronze Bull and Bobby Starr had a hold of each other and were about to punch each other in the face. But Kevin Morgan had completely vanished.

For months, Kevin Morgan asked the question "Where's John?" Now, according to a Facebook post from The Image of Fear, Impact, Inc. will be asking "Where's Kevin?" And with Jermaine Johnson and Gary Tool back at IZW, it looks like the cakewalk Johnny Z and company expected will not be happening. And perhaps this is not the end of the surprise returns. The summer just got a lot hotter for Impact, Inc.
