NEWS
Memphis promoter/commentator Corey Macklin spoke on Live Audio Wrestling on April 22nd regarding the April 27th FedEx Forum show headlined by Hulk Hogan vs. Paul Wight. He said in regards to Jerry Lawler being pulled from the show by WWE that "The King" was very torn about it, but it was a decision beyond his control.

According to reports, Jimmy Hart, Hulk Hogan and Memphis Wrestling promoter Corey Maclin are very upset with Jerry Lawler for pulling out of his match with Hogan in Memphis on April 27th. They are reportedly resentful towards Lawler for pulling out of the show. There was a meeting where Lawler, Hart, Hogan and Maclin were all present with Lawler saying, ?F*** Vince McMahon, I will do what I want to do.? And when it came to Vince stepping in, then Lawler turned his back on them. The ashow drew a gate of around $151,200 and reportedly the building and security cost around $75,000, talent without Hogan was roughly $30,000. The show was not the huge success they had planned. The idea that they only had 9 days to promote Hogan vs Wight after Lawler pulled out must have hurt them. Lawler pulling out hurt them also ? many of the fans wanted to see Hogan vs Lawler.

Jerry Lawler, Kamala, and One Man Gang are just some of the wrestlers pictured on the Florida Extreme Wrestling "Mayhem in Melbourne II" event poster.

"Ric Flair and the Four Horseman" debuts on WWE Fanatics pay-per-view on May 1st.

Arn Anderson has been approached about coming out of retirement to do a few television matches. The idea was for Anderson to team with Ric Flair to do tag matches to help promote the Four Horsemen DVD. Anderson was open to the idea, but with legal liabilities, he would have to gain medical clearance. Triple H and Stephanie McMahon are behind the idea and pushing for it.

WWE Referee Nick Patrick is working limited dates due a sore neck.

We've got the match listing for the upcoming "Ladder Match" 2 disc DVD WWE is releasing on June 5th. In the biggest news, they only have one minute of clips of the match which really put ladder matches on the map, the Shawn Michaels vs. Razor Ramon match from Wrestlemania X. They also only have short clips of the Wrestlemania XVI ladder match. Interviews were done with Michaels, Jeff Hardy, Edge, Gregory Helms, Chris Benoit, Kane (totally in character), Shelton Benjamin, Ric Flair, and MNM (Johnny Nitro & Joey Mercury). Matches include Jake Roberts vs. Big Daddy Ritter (AKA Junkyard Dog) from Stampede Wrestling in 1979 for the North American Title, and Ric Flair vs. Edge TLC match (2006 Raw) amongst others.

The East Oregonian newspaper had a story on Patrick Kligel, a local high school product who is a movie producer. It was about a movie called "Honor" that he produced that stars Roddy Piper and Don Frye. It said he had to raise $300,000 to make the movie, but made half of it back on a pre-sale deal with a Japanese company, probably because of the two names. Kligel said fight films come with a built-in audience that even if they are totally horrible, there will be people who will watch it.

The movie "Half Past Dead 2" starring Bill Goldberg and Kurupt is released to video on May 15th.

NWA-U announced that on April 19th, Universal Heavyweight Champion Rocco Valentino will defend the title against Brent Albright in Wagoner and the winner will be entered in the upcoming NWA World Heavyweight Title Tournament. That may have left a few people scratching their heads. The reason behind the tournament is because the NWA titles will no longer be a part of TNA as of May 14th, which would be the day after the "Sacrifice" PPV.

Hector Guerrero did not appear at the Disciple Championship Wrestling event in Alliance, OH as was adverstised.

Jake Roberts no-showed both the PWX shows last weekend because he was not allowed to cross the border into Canada
