Family Members Prone To Personal Violence

Family Members Prone To Personal Violence

There are few issues worse than family feuds.

Some of the closest families in pro wrestling have seen their bond destroyed as greed, lust and desire break them apart. The Harts, the Dudleys, the Valentinos...all had their successes as teams AND their battles over titles.

It appears the bond of family is not strong enough to hold Maddox Jones and Striker together. And, as usual, the issue surrounds a title, in this instance, the WFC Hometown Heroes title held by Robert Lee. Striker and Jones were two of six competitors who vied to become the #1 contender to that title at the November 9th event and it came down to the father and son against each other. Ever the veteran, Striker used his savvy and know-how to eliminate his own son and become #1 contender. But rather than accept the lesson and move forward, Jones was incredibly upset and a rift between the Prone To Violence members occurred.

Jones had a tremendous opportunity on January 19 as he faced off against Double D, who was making his WFC debut. Spreading the message of the Force to Northeast Oklahoma for the first time, D did not want to walk away with anything less than a win. But Jones also had plenty to prove and the match as certainly hard fought. After about six or seven minutes of action, Striker emerged from the back and appeared to be cheering Jones on. But all this did was serve to make Jones upset and he protested, ordering is father to go back to the dressing area. After arguing with Striker, Jones turned around and walked directly into a high knee, which allowed D to get the win. After the match, Striker entered the ring and calmly tried to explain to Jones that he could not allow his focus to be distracted like that, but Jones was not in a mood to listen. e shoved Striker and left the ring, saying he did not need anyone telling him anything.

While the night was officially over for Jones, it was just beginning for Striker, who was the chosen tag team partner of UWE United States Champion Tim Rockwell in the main event. At the beginning of the show, Rockwell had made it clear that he wanted to get his hands on Stevie Caballero. But a better offer was put on the table for him: if he and a partner of his choice could beat Robert Lee and Caballero Cartel newcomer Braxx, Rockwell would get a WFC Hometown Heroes title shot. It was an offer Rockwell could not refuse and choosing the #1 contender to the WFC Title made it even more worthwhile. But just like Striker had made his presence known earlier, Jones decided to return the favour. Jones quickly made his presence known and yanked Striker off the ring apron, then DDTed him on the floor. But Striker and Rockwell had backup in the form of Brian Breaker, who emerged from the back and quickly battled Jones to the back. This allowed Rockwell to focus back on Lee and turn a Pimpslap into a Tornado DDT and gain the win.

It would seem the issues between these family members are far from over and they are drawing the rest of WFC into their battle. ow will it end? If history is any indication, the only sure thing is that it will be bloody and unfortunate.
