Who Will Be MSWA's Mystery Partner?
Posted: Apr 19th 2007 By: CMBurnham
As the war continues to heaten between MSWA & IZW, more and more members of both federations are being pulled into it. And on the flyers for IZW's show this Saturday, an 8-man tag team match was advertised prominently. This came as something of a shock to MSWA Mid-South Tag Team champion & owner Bad Boy and he came out Sunday to address the crowd about the situation.
Bad Boy made it very clear that he was upset about what he considered to be false advertising and that he would not be performing in any capacity at an IZW show on April 21. Obviously, this didn't fit into the plans of the leader of Impact, Inc. and John Zorthos headed to the ring to make sure his side of the story was heard. Zorthos proceded to call Bad Boy a liar, accuse him of falsely advertising talent on his shows and essentially proclaiming him a rip-off promoter. He then stated that he never lied to the crowd (the crowd did not seem to agree with this stance). Bad Boy took all he could and then called security to escort Zorthos out.
Believing everything was handled, Bad Boy & his partner Glen Steel reappeared later in the show to defend their tag team titles against the New Age Syndicate. But after that successful venture, the Patriots found themselves almost suffering from a sneak attack courtesy of Johnny Z. Zorthos brought a chair to the ring, but Steel & Bad Boy felt him coming and backed him into a corner. Then, fellow Impact, Inc. members Bernie Donderwitz & Gary Tool joined the fray, making it a 3-on-2 situation until the Patriots' associate Angel Williams, who had stood by them last month at the IZW show, jumped in the ring. Things were even for a moment, until the appearance of another Impact, Inc. member, Brad Michaels. When Michaels entered the ring, the destruction began as all 3 members of the MSWA contingent were hit with steel chairs and left broken in the middle of the ring thanks to the gang mentality of Impact, Inc.
After Zorthos and his cronies left the ring, Bad Boy motioned for MSWA ring announcer Jesse Storm to give him the microphone and he said he would be at the IZW show after all and would be bringing Steel, Williams and a yet-to-be announced partner with him. And so the speculation began. Who would be the 4th member of Team MSWA? After looking at the possibilities, Oklafan puts forward the following 4 people as the leading contenders for that postition:
1. Ryan Davidson. He's the MSWA Mid-South Champion. He's held that title since June. If anyone should stand up for the company, it's their Heavyweight Champion. Most importantly, he has a long-standing issue with Brad Michaels surrounding that title. He & Michaels teamed together as members of the Old School Assassins, so Davidson could bring some inside knowledge to use against the IZW group.
2. Michael Faith. While he's travelled all over the state, he's often thought of as the most visible representation of MSWA when he's in other federations. He's also the brother of the MSWA commissioner Halo. Halo can't enter the ring due to a recurring injury, so Faith could step up to represent his brother and the company. Faith has been competing in IZW for almost a year now and while he hasn't tended to get involved in Impact, Inc's business, he certainly has had the opportunity to scout them well.
3. Brandon Bishop: Bishop began his training and career in the MSWA area, although he didn't wrestle many matches there. Bishop made a post on the IZW message board saying that he wasn't booked for this show, but knowing Bishop, even if it is a 10-hour drive for him, he'll arrive just so can get his hands on John Zorthos. No one in the business has a better understanding of how Zorthos' mind works than Bishop and that knowledge would certainly be useful in this situation.
4. Aaron Neil. This is probably the longest stretch, but wouldn't it be interesting if it were true? Since the beginning of the conflict between IZW & MSWA, Neil has been the only Impact, Inc. member not to join in on the group beatdowns. He was focused on his issues with IZW Champion Michael Barry and Outlaw. In FACT, after his most recent blindfold match with Outlaw, he slapped Outlaw's hand afterwards in a show of respect. Might he be ready to break away from the group? He's got the most inside information of any of the candidates and his defection would certainly catch Zorthos by surprise.
Of course, this is all speculation and it's possible that the actual 4th member might not be any of these people. But whoever shows up at the National Guard Armoury on April 21 had better be prepared for the fight of their life as Impact, Inc seems willing to take whatever measures they can to prove the point that they belong in the area. Zorthos won't back down. Neither will Bad Boy. It seems like only a massive amount of bloodshed can stop this war.
