JR's Blog: JR In New Wrestling Promotion?? Celtics, Crunch Time for Daniel Bryan, National Title Prediction, Visit WWEShop.com

As the the King would say it's a little nipple-ly here in Oklahoma this morning. The good thing about living in Oklahoma is if you don't like the weather just wait around a few hours and it will likely change. Let's get to cooking.....

If you want to hear the podcast that I did with Celtic's voice Sean Grande Sunday night checkout out the @985TheSportHub in Boston website. The link, I think, is http://www.cbsloc.al/1eCmLQd.

Sean's one of my best friends and is as talented a broadcaster in multiple sports as there is in the country.

Hope everyone enjoys the Old School Raw tonight live from Baltimore. Lots of wrestling history in that old Arena including Superstar Graham beating Bruno Sammartino for the WWWF Title, several JCP major shows including Great American Bash events and Ron Simmons making history by beating Vader for the WCW World Title back in the day.

I'm curious to see how the "Old Schoolers" will be used tonight on the 3 hour broadcast. Will they be embraced or embarrassed in the name of 'entertainment?'

FYI...I have not had any conversations with anyone about starting a 'new' pro wrestling promotion. I have not spoken to Jeff Jarrett since he left WWE on a day that doesn't rank too high on my list of fun days at work.

Some websites are irresponsibly running with the story that just because Toby Keith and I are friends and fellow Okies who both follow the Sooners that I'm about to do business with Toby and Jeff Jarrett which isn't true. Toby and I had dinner at the Sugar Bowl, he's a wrestling fan from the old days and, a helluva entrepreneur with deep pockets. Nonetheless the reason that we were there was to support our Sooners vs. Alabama in the Sugar Bowl and not talk about pro wrestling.

We did talk the wrestling biz some but that's not unusual for me in any conversation after a 40 year career within the genre. We also talked country music, business investments, OU football and we spent the afternoon together with ESPN's Brad Nessler who's another wrestling fan. Yes, TNA came up a time or two but that was really a non issue in our conversations.

I am not motivated to re-engage in the wrestling business on a daily basis and it would take a mighty healthy offer to consider such. The politics and paranoia that go along with today's rasslin business isn't healthy for me to be around on a full time basis especially at this stage of my life.

Plus, I have a specific philosophy regarding how the business should be presented that doesn't seem to be in fashion these days.

My name has been linked to doing some voice overs for a couple of international Wresting promotions who air their product, including PPV's and DVD's' in North America, but that 's not something that we've pursued just yet. We'll see what the future holds on that one. Sounds interesting though.

WWE creative must hit it out of the park tonight on the Daniel Bryan, who's soon to be known as Daniel Wyatt based on weekend WWE live events, and the Wyatt Family storyline. I've never seen a talent over the last few years get 'over' to the level of Bryan and then be booked so curiously. Hopefully, at the end of the day, this will come full circle and please many fans but at least Bryan is still getting quality TV minutes and his bell to bell in ring work is virtually untouchable.

Talents who get over organically are few and far between these days and they can never be taken for granted or not recognized. The 'buzz' doesn't last forever. Wrestlers who connect with the fans is a wrestling booker's dream.

Creative types who do not listen to their paying customers IE Fans just aren't that bright when all is said and done.

Tickets are available now at the Gramercy Theatre box office and all http://ticketmaster.com outlets for my two shows in NYC on Saturday March 1, 'RINGSIDE: An Evening with Jim Ross.' If you live in the NYC area or can get to our shows, I hope that you will try and make it to these inaugural, Big Apple events.

If Auburn stays hot they can beat FSU tonight in the National Championship Game in Pasadena. However, Florida State has a deeper talent roster and I'm interested to see how redshirt freshman and Heisman Trophy winner QB Jameis Winston reacts to the pressure of the game, celebrating his birthday today and the pressure of what will likely be a very aggressive, blitzing Auburn defense.

Should be a fun game to watch. I'm happy that it's the last BCS game under the old system. Championships should be won on the field and now via a convoluted system. Old friend and fellow WWE HOFer Ron Simmons will be pulling for his 'Noles to win another National Title. Ron's #50 is retired at FSU.

I'm thinking FSU is a close one tonight and under the 10.5 point spread. The atmosphere from the Rose Bowl will be classic. One of my favorite stadiums to watch an OU game a few years ago vs. Washington State.

Amazing deals on JR's products right now at http://www.wweshop.com. Some packages that include some really classic, @RobSchamberger art work that's personally signed by me and are priced than $10.

Hopefully the Legends will be allowed to be themselves tonight on RAW and not be over produced and have their entire promos written by a creative team member. Tonight would be a good night to go really 'Old School' and let the verbal creativity flow from those who are good at extemporaneous speaking.

Between staying abreast with the National Championship game tonight and WWE, I will be live tweeting what I'm seeing and thinking @JRsBBQ.

If you live in the UK you can order JR's from http://www.americansoda.co.uk and from http://www.beyondtheropes.co.uk. Quick delivery and excellent service.

Q&A's are updated here. Bring em on!
