NEWS
Jeff Jarrett announced on his Twitter today that he is gone from TNA effective immediately. ?On December 22nd, 2013 I officially resigned from TNA Entertainment. Thanks to everyone involved for all the fantastic memories! #grateful,? Jarrett wrote in a simple tweet announcing his departure. Jarrett, along with his father Jerry, founded the company in 2002 and served as the President until Panda Energy International bought a controlling stake in the company. He served as Vice President of the company ever since the Carter family took 71% ownership of the company, with Dixie Carter taking over the President role. The Jarretts formed TNA after WCW was sold to WWE and then put its first pay-per-view in June 2002. Jeff?s time in TNA had some rocky moments too as a romance with Karen Angle, the ex-wife of Kurt Angle, led to Dixie Carter placing Jeff on an extended leave of absence to avoid backstage heat with Angle. The two eventually got married the next year. While as an active wrestler in TNA, Jarrett won the NWA World title six times and won the King of the Mountain twice and last wrestled for the company in 2011.

TNA posted a statement about Jeff Jarrett's resignation on ImpactWrestling.com "TNA Entertainment, LLC announced today that it has accepted Mr. Jeff Jarrett?s resignation from the company effective January 6th, 2014. Dixie Carter, President, commented 'On behalf of TNA, we would like to thank Jeff for his contributions to the Company. We wish him the very best and look forward to his continued participation as an investor in TNA Wrestling.'"

Several TNA stars posted on Twitter about Jeff Jarrett's resignation:

-Eric Young: "@JeffJarrettTNA is one of the smartest men I have ever been around. Above all else he is a amazing man father and husband. Huge loss for TNA. Thanks to @JeffJarrettTNA for everything wouldn?t be where I am without him."

-Velvet Sky: "IMHO @JeffJarrettTNA deserves more credit than ever. He started up tna & gave all of us a place 2 do what we love. Forever thankful to Jeff. @JeffJarrettTNA thank u 4 everything you?ve done for tna. Thank u 4 the opportunities & giving me a chance. So grateful. U will be missed."

-Matt Morgan: "Sad news @JeffJarrettTNA resigning from @IMPACTWRESTLING. Thank u Jeff for giving me a real opportunity&always believing in me!"

-Gail Kim: "@JeffJarrettTNA I'm VERY disappointed to hear this news. You make a difference to any company you are a part of. Thanks for everything jeff"

-Frankie Kazarian: "@JeffJarrettTNA was largely responsible for bringing me into TNA in 2003. I can't thank him enough after all these years. #thankyoujeff"

-Samoa Joe: "@JeffJarrettTNA my best to you and yours Jeff see you down the road."

-Jeremy Borash: "To a man who always taught me there is no substitute for hard work. Wishing nothing but continued success to @JeffJarrettTNA #ThankyouJeff".

-Chris Sabin: "@JeffJarrettTNA Thank you for the opportunity that has allowed me to make a living off of what I love to do."

According to a source very close to the A. J. Styles-TNA situation, no deal has been signed or agreed to as of last Thursday morning, but in recent days things have gotten a lot closer.

A misunderstanding seems to be what happened with Samoa Joe and Ring of Honor. Jim Cornette had done an interview and said how he once talked to Delirious (ROH booker) and talked about how screwed up TNA has made all of its wrestlers, and pointed to Joe in particular, how with what TNA had done to screw up his character, that even though he was one of ROH's biggest stars ever, if they could get him, they weren't sure they'd want him. He also noted how badly TNA had hurt the star power of A. J. Styles and Jeff Hardy. Joe responded saying that he was told he would not be welcome back in ROH but still wished them well. ROH then posted on its own Twitter account that if anyone says Joe wouldn't be welcome back in ROH, that don't know what they are talking about, saying Joe, C. M. Punk, Bryan Danielson (AKA Daniel Bryan), and Nigel McGuinness built the foundation of the company.

Jerry Lawler's high school yearbook picture has been posted on Twitter. You can see the picture by clicking here.

On the year end "Real Sports" with Bryant Gumbel on HBO, they talked about their most memorable stories of the year. One of those they brought up was Frank Deford's story on Dallas Page helping Scott Hall and Jake Roberts and showed two or three minutes of it.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that Ric Flair will film a role for an unknown movie in Hollywood, CA in the next two weeks.

Gabe Sapolsky made 2 posts on Twitter about Jim Cornette. He posted "Hey thanks for the nice shout out @TheJimCornette about @SamoaJoe. I appreciate it. Merry Christmas!" and "Also want to reiterate what @TheJimCornette wrote that it's not that hard to book an elite talent like @SamoaJoe and have him draw $$$".

PWInsider.com reports that tag team legend Bobby Eaton was hospitalized on Monday due to complications from diabetes, which was causing issues with his legs. Eaton was hospitalized in Jonesboro, AR and will be held a few days for observation. The former member of The Midnight Express has had a history of heart issues as well, but has been doing better on that front since he had a Pacemaker installed. Oklafan wishes him a speedy recovery.

Oklafan extends its condolences to the family and friends of Vivian St. John, who passed away December 20. Vivian, whose real name was Suzanne Miller, was trained by The Fabulous Moolah and competed everywhere from 1974 until 1986. After wrestling, St. John became obsessed with the occult, studying at the New York School for Occult Sciences and practicing fortune telling as Lady Suzanne Miller. She also co-authored a book on the subject. St. John had 6 documented matches in Oklahoma; the earliest being against Lelani Kai on August 27, 1975 in Lawton for TSW and the last being a win over Judy Martin on July 18, 1982 in Tulsa for MSW.
