David Zucchino of LATimes.com wrote a story entitled "Jim Thorpe, Pa., fights to keep its namesake" which chronicles the Pennsylvania town's fight to keep the buried remains of Jim Thorpe in their town. In April, Thorpe's sons along with the Sac and Fox Nation prevailed in a federal lawsuit demanding the town return Thorpe's body for burial on the Oklahoma reservation. A federal judge ruled that the town was subject to the 1990 Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act, which governs the return of human remains and other Indian artifacts. The town has filed an appeal. You can read the story by clicking here.

The "Survivor Series" kickoff show will be streaming live Sunday on WWE.com, the WWE App, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo!, Google+, Pheed, Pinterest, on Samsung SMART TVs, Xbox Live, and PlayStation 3 at 7:30pm Eastern (6:30pm Central).

Michael Kaufman, the brother of Andy Kaufman, believes he was the victim of a hoax wherein he became convinced that Andy faked his own death. It's a fascinating story, and one of the individuals interviewed for this story on CNN was Jerry Lawler, who of course had the famous wrestling feud with Kaufman. This story has gotten headlines all over the world this week. You can read the story by clicking here.
In response to the story where Andy Kaufman's daughter still thinks her father is alive, Jerry Lawler said that if Kaufman is alive, he'd like to wrestle him at WrestleMania. It was later revealed that the daughter was a hoax. Kaufman's brother, Michael, introduced a woman as Kaufman's daughter, born in 1989, a few years after his believed death, who claimed he was still alive and just wanted a secret life. But the woman was found to be an actress.

Jim Ross has a non-compete clause which might prevent him from becoming the English language announcer for Asistencia Asesor?a y Administraci?n. The Mexican wrestling promotion has reportedly put out feelers to Ross according to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Obviously, Vince McMahon put in a non-compete clause to prevent the legendary announcer jumping to TNA.
TNA is doing an angle where Dixie Carter is now feuding with Spike TV, storming out of their offices because they allowed that "Friends of A. J. Styles" commercial to air during "Impact Wrestling" last Thursday.
TNA posted a video of TNA President Dixie Carter reacting to a video of A. J. Styles in Japan with the TNA World Title. Carter admitted that Styles has gotten under her skin "a little bit," and said that he's not defending the TNA title in Japan, but rather the "AJS" title. Carter said that Styles doesn't have the right to be displaying the TNA World Championship title, and that she will be letting her attorneys deal with the situation. You can see the video by clicking here.
A. J. Styles beat Seiya Sanada with the calf slicer (calf killer in TNA lingo) in his TNA World Ttle defense on Saturday's Wrestle-1 show at Tokyo Korakuen Hall. Footage of this will naturally be appearing on "Impact Wrestling".

Bobby Fulton faced off against Nikolai Volkoff in Marlon, OH this past Saturday for Classic Championship Wrestling and there was no ring to compete in. CCW officials were quoted as saying "We did not have a ring due to circumstances beyond our control, but the best fans in the world still showed up still cheered?and the best wrestling staff in the world had a good time?Bobby Fulton & Nikolai Volkoff got on the mats and wrestled?Nikolai said thats the way it used to be all class acts and we will be back soon?thank you to all the wrestlers?.over 100 people in attendance". You can see the video by clicking here.
In response to the criticism he was getting to his match against Bobby Fulton in a match that had no ring, Volkoff posted on Facebook "Please forward to all newsletters or wrestling websites from me: I want to address what seems many are talking about in regards to a show I worked in Ohio over the weekend where there was no ring. I as you know am strictly a performer. I try to be a man of my word and if a promoter books me and pays me what we agree upon I have no problem working on a mat rather than a ring. It does not matter if 10 people show up or 93,000 plus I have a commitment to my fans and the promoter to give them what they want. I wrestle for fun, to stay in shape, and make a few bucks in the process. Everything that I own and have is because of the great fans of wrestling that allowed me to live the American dream. It was a fun match on Saturday. I would have done it all over again as long I can make you all smile. As a man that escaped a tough government and came here with $50 in 1968, I sure am smiling and that's due to all of you. God bless, Nikolai"

He wrote "Then the Main Event Tommy Dreamer & Terry Funk vs Lance Strom & X-Pac w me and Angelina Love in the corners. WOW are you kidding me. All I can say is that for the first time in 21 years in wrestling, as Terry Funk made his way to the ring, I actually cried in the ring. I mean everybody in the crowd was on their feet. His entrance music, Desperado, blaring. I mean you have to dead not to feel the electricity in the air at that moment. The night was special for so many reasons. I got to see so many ECW friends and families. All our kids are grown up. We are all a little grey, but man we can still kick ass like nobody else on the planet. Thank you Tommy, Lance Storm, X-Pac, and of course Terry Funk. It?s a night I will never forget." To read the entire column, click here.
