"The Megastar" Angel Blue Interview
Posted: Nov 4th 2013 By: CMBurnham
?I see myself becoming the Queen of IZW.?
?Halloween Hangover? is less than a week away and one of the most anticipated matches on the card will be in the women?s division, for the Queen?s Crown as Champion Erica battles Miss Diss Lexia and ?The Megastar? Angel Blue in a Triple Threat Match. All three aforementioned women have their own unique style of wrestling and each woman comes into the bout with something to prove. For Angel Blue, it?s regaining a title she has been close to winning several times in the last few months.
?I have been feuding with Erica in IZW throughout the past few months and at the last two iPPVs. We've had a Dog Collar and Chain Match at ?Redemption? for the Queen?s Crown. She had Jermaine Johnson and Jordan Jacobs come out and interfere and it caused me to lose the match. She has somehow managed to get away right before I am about to win the Queen?s Crown on several occasions. Whether it be by her just straight up walking out of the match or having someone interfere in it,? Blue said.
Blue seems deadly serious but a bit coy when it comes to how her Triple Threat Match will play out on November 2. ?I am not sure what is to come, it's just something you will have to continue to watch and find out!?
Blue has been a pro wrestler since 2008, but started her training in early 2007 with Wally Darkmon and former WWE and TNA wrestler and current NJPW star Lance Hoyt. Blue?s interest and her aspirations for the squared circle started much earlier than that. Growing up in Arlington, Texas, and watching wrestling on television, Blue quickly jumped at the chance to see the real thing up close and personal when she found out a local federation was based nearby.
?I got started in professional wrestling by going to an independent company called PCW, which is where I trained at. Me and my family watched wrestling all the time together but only knew about WWE for the longest time until we were flipping across some channels and saw PCW. We found out that they were only about 10 minutes from our house so we decided to go check it out. This was when I was 14. Well about a year later we went to this show again and started going weekly and my parents started working security there. One day they announced that they had a school on Monday's and Wednesday's and so after I heard that I begged and begged my parents to put me in the school and they finally did when I was 16,? Blue remembered.
Blue?s goals in wrestling are met with the realities of paying her dues in a business that is constantly about evolving, improving and persevering. It?s a profession only a select few choose to enter and even fewer excel in. ?I've had quite a bit of challenges throughout my wrestling career. I've had a pretty bad neck and back injury that has been bothering me for years. I've gone through some cars in my travels so I don't have a very travel friendly car anymore so when I?m not carpooling with others, I have to take a greyhound. Wrestling is also very time consuming. It pretty much takes all my weekend time up with all the travel time and time that I spend at the show and in the gym to better myself for my wrestling career.?
Blue is someone that belongs to that exclusive group of wrestlers who are breaking out of the pack and pushing the envelope in the ring no matter what obstacles are placed before them. ?My goals in wrestling are to travel all around the world to make a big name for myself. I want to be remembered for wrestling. I'd love to get signed at a place like WWE or TNA, but I would also love to go to Japan, Shimmer, Shine, and ROH,? Blue added.
Blue has lofty goals and rightfully so, because if you?re not in this business to be the best then you need to step aside for the people that are. Blue has amassed a ton of singles and tag titles and championships over the last five years as a pro including being a former Queen of IZW (in a much talked about feud in 2012 with Erica and Venus for the championship), former Women?s Champ for TCW, TWF, American Joshi Champion for ACW, and a host of tag titles with WBW, IHWE, ACW. Blue also won the 2013 American Joshi Queen of Queens Tournament and is the current Anarchy Televised Champion with ACW. With another title shot on November 2 and the ability to become a 2-time Queen?s Crown Champion of IZW, and drive a stake through Erica?s black wrestling heart, Blue is constantly upping her game and pulling out all the stops. Blue enjoys one of the most creative arsenals of any wrestler on the IZW roster and on the Independent scene as she is constantly looking at inventing new moves and adding new combos to her armory of moves. Her finisher, the DejaBlue, resembles a modified chicken wing pedigree that plants her opponent face first on the mat with no way for her opponent to protect herself from taking the full weight and brunt of the move on her defenseless face.
?The Megastar?s? stock has skyrocketed in the last several years and she has grown her fanbase throughout Oklahoma, Texas and to a wider degree, the world thanks to IZW and its broadcasting capabilities through GFL.tv and also various international distribution deals. Blue has traveled thousands of miles in her career and been a part of tons of events, and she is very clear when it comes to IZW and the opportunity and platform it provides for her. ?I think IZW has a bright future. I've worked many different shows in my career and this has definitely been one of the better ones. They have great talent, great production and it is ran the way a wrestling show should be ran. There is a lot of hard work put into IZW and everything is done how it is supposed to be, to keep the company up and running. I think it's a pretty big deal [GFL streaming partnership]. It?s great to get your name out there and be noticed in the world. The more places it airs the more people will find out about IZW and want to come watch the shows or order them online.?
Angel Blue is one of the rising stars in Independent wrestling. Her match against Erica and Miss Diss Lexia is sure to showcase tons of innovative moves mixed with both scientific and aerial wrestling. If you are looking for the future of professional wrestling, the future it here and it will be on full display on November 2 at ?Halloween Hangover? when along with the rest of the card, these three ladies battle for the Queen?s Crown in a Triple Threat Match.
