MSWA Champ And Company Still Capable Of Making An Impact

After returning to MSWA over a year ago, it would not be a surprise to anyone to see Impact, Inc. begin to lose steam. Momentum like they have had is difficult to maintain. But despite those odds, the members of arguably the most dominant faction today still have a lot to say about what happens on Sundays in Midwest City.

Take, for example, MSWA Mid-South & IZW Champion Johnny Z. Everyone expected him to lose the MSWA Title to Double D at Mid-South Aggression. But Z introduced the Convict to MSWA and defied the expectations to retain his championship. This past Sunday, Z again achieved a mileston, handing Drake Gallows his first defeat since returning to MSWA. It is important to note that he did so courtesy of his feet on the bottom rope, but the referee never saw it and it goes down as a win in the record books for The Natural Born Leader.

Also impressive was MSWA Oklahoma Champion Kevin Morgan. Morgan brought the title to Impact, Inc. by defeating IZW Tag Team and ComPro Showtime Champion Bobby Starr in his first title defence. Sunday, Morgan took on former tag team partner Damon Windsor. Windsor, always a thinking man's wrestler, brought his girlfriend AnnaLynn Storm to ringside to counter MSWA Commissioner Erica. It worked to a certain extent as, when Erica jumped up on the apron to gain the attention of the referee, Storm yanked her off. However, the distraction was enough for Morgan to capitalise and level Windsor with a Detonator for the win.

Not even MSWA's most popular stars, Bad Boy and Double D, could overpower the forces of Impact, Inc. In the main event, they took on the combination of Mark Wilson and The Convict. In reality, it was most the Convict doing the damage, but neither D nor Bad Boy would back down. Eventually, thanks to the sneakiness of Wilson (and Erica at ringside again), Impact, Inc. took home another win.

Perhaps the only sign of vulnerability lie in What Wrestling Should Be. Neither Jermaine Johnson nor Jordan Jacobs were able to secure victories Sunday. Johnson fell to Striker after making some inflammatory statements about his recent injuries. He was on the receiving end of a Stroke for his efforts. Jacobs came closer to victory against a returning Tyson Jaymes. Jacobs pulled referee Chance Snodgrass into the corner as Jaymes charged in, knocking the official out. This allowed Johnson to come to his partner's aid and What Wrestling Should Be commenced with a 2-on-1 beating of Jaymes. That did not last long as MSWA Mid-South Tag Team Champions The Syndicate arrived and cleaned house on their opponents at Mid-South Justice on December 1st. Jaymes then executed an RKO on Jacobs and a recovered referee slowly made the three-count.

But WWSB will certainly recover from these singles losses and are still a major threat in the tag team division. So all of Impact, Inc. remain a roadblock for many of the MSWA stars. It will take some serious cooperative efforts (and a lot of luck) to finally rid MSWA of this group of powerful competitors.
