NWA Houston: Wilcott Makes Promise to World Champ Conway
Posted: Sep 3rd 2013 By: mikeiles
For over a century, championship gold has been the standard by which all professional wrestlers are measured. That being said, ?Addictive and Expensive? Byron Wilcott is the measuring stick by which all heavyweights in Texas are measured. Not only is Wilcott the NWA 360 Heavyweight Champion and the NWA Texas Stampede Bull of the Woods, but in July, he won a triple threat match to become the NWA Lone Star Heavyweight Champion as well. By virtue of holding the Lone Star title, Wilcott has earned a shot at ?Ironman? Rob Conway and the NWA World Heavyweight Championship at NWA Houston?s ?Collision Course? on September 20.
The match will be Conway?s first appearance in Houston since defending the title against Chris Adonis at the ?Parade of Champions? tribute to Paul Boesch event in April. That same night, Conway was presented with the current ?domed globe? World title belt, which he has defended vigorously all summer long against the best the NWA has to offer. What, then, makes Wilcott different from Adonis, Damien Wayne, Ricky Morton, and so many others?
Wilcott said, ?The men living at this time who are more important to the human race than ?Addictive & Expensive? Byron Wilcott can be counted on the fingers of one hand. perhaps on the thumb of one hand. I'm the Heavyweight Champion of three NWA promotions and Tag Team Champion of two NWA promotions. I hold more championships concurrently than any man in the NWA!?
?I?m very successful because that?s Gods plan for me,? he continued. ?God has a plan for NWA World Heavyweight Champion Rob Conway?s life also. It involves a lot of pain, humiliation, and embarrassment. God's plan involves me laying out Rob Conway in front of the whole world!?
NWA Houston presents ?Collision Course? on Friday, September 20 at the VFW in Cypress. The event is the last chance for the NWA Houston roster to make an impact before the Invasion of New Japan Pro Wrestling on October 18 at the Humble Civic Center. Tickets and information for both events can be found at www.nwaringside.com, www.nwahouston.com and https://www.facebook.com/nwahouston.
