Sorry McMahon, I've Always Liked the Ultimate Warrior

Vince McMahon recently took to twitter to welcome the Ultimate Warrior back to the WWE. News broke earlier this week that the Ultimate Warrior would be a featured addition on the WWE's upcoming video game. I never stopped liking the Ultimate Warrior even as his peers smeared his name and the WWE released the Self Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior DVD - a billionaires attempt to use company resources to slander a figure that brought his company a lot of business by bringing distorted stories 'to light' of the Warrior holding WWE hostage in business meetings to favour his personal agenda. Huh, like that's never happened before. Even as the IWC's wrestling purist elitests were egged on to label the Ultimate Warrior a talentless wrestler because he wasn't the second coming of Lou Thesz and Dean Malenko and use the Warrior's staunch conservative political beliefs to further vilify his character, I never stopped liking the Ultimate Warriors. I wasn't deterred by the ignorance and bias of some people. I admire the Warriors intelligence and his genuine love for his 'little warriors'. For the WWE (through the Warrior DVD) to basically call the Ultimate Warrior a shark in the way he conducted busines, is hypocrisy on so many levels. At the end of the day, when you're that smart you can get away with looking out for your best interests, as long as you acknowledge the fans and the people who helped you achieve your best. The boss isn't always out to give their employee the best possible deal, or cater to their well being. You only have to look at a lot of wrestlers from the Ultimate Warrior's era to see how true this is. I can probably name 4 wrestlers including the Warrior from the late '80s early '90s era who are alive and doing very well - The Ultimate Warrior, Hulk Hogan, Tito Santana and Rick Martel. All four had the foresight to look after themselves during their WWF runs and take responsibilities for their post WWF lives. WWE and Vince McMahon owe the Ultimate Warrior and all his little warriors a sincere apology. They need to put out a retraction of that DVD and acknowledge the malicious intent of that project.
