Vince McMahon, Sr., Andre the Giant, Bruno Sammartino, Steve Austin, The Undertaker & Paul Bearer. Ricky Steamboat, and Sgt. Slaughter are among the WWE Legends pictured on the walls of the new WWE Performance Center which opened last week in Orlando, FL.

Lovefilm in the United Kingdom, which is owned by Amazon, will be renting out WWE DVDs starting in October with both "SummerSlam" and "Night of Champions" as the first titles. They will also be renting out a new Triple H release an a Bill Goldberg release for later this year. Lovefilm rented WWE videos through 2007, a relationship that ended when Silver Vision and Lovefilm's deal ended. This will be the first time WWE DVD's have been available for rent in the U.K. since that time.

Decked in his familiar face paint, Ultimate Warrior recorded a funny commercial walking through the 2K Sports offices and beating people up while hyping up the WWE 2K14 video game. The Ultimate Warrior will be available as a playable character to those who pre-order the game now, his first time ever in the WWE's franchise game. Warrior posted a Twitter message, his first since April, simply saying, "15/07/13 Always Believe." In a press release issued last week by WWE and 2K, Warrior said, "Immortality is inspiration, pure and simple. An example to others that they, too, can do things larger than the life they are actually living, and Ultimate Warrior was the pure embodiment of this belief, in what has proven to be a very attention-getting and inspiring way." Warrior added that he is humbled by all the fans who not only kept his legacy alive, but depended it even more over time. "In WWE 2K14, Ultimate Warrior's creed, 'Always Believe,' lives on." You can see the commercial by clicking here. Regarding Ultimate Warrior's appearance in the game, there is no deal with WWE but a deal with 2K Sports.

ESPN.com has a feature with a series of experts all drafting an all-time University of Oklahoma football team. Jim Ross was one of the round table of experts, and his first two picks were Sam Bradford (after Lee Roy Selmon and Adrian Peterson were already taken) and Trent Williams (after Billy Sims, Roy Williams, Tony Casillas, and Joe Washington were already picked). Toby Rowland picked Steve Williams as the 97th pick and Wahoo McDaniel as the 117th pick.

Variety had a story last Monday about Doritos and parent company Frito-Lay sponsoring SummerSlam on August 18th in Los Angeles, CA. Among the things they are doing is having viewing parties with Sgt. Slaughter and Ricky Steamboat in a Dollar General store promotion, and a fan correspondent search. The partnership came because both companies were at SXSW and Doritos executives were impressed by John Cena's speaking ability and the way he sold the WWE product, and then were impressed with a live show in Austin, TX. Things like this are why Cena is the face of the company and the product is kept relatively clean.

The George Tragos/Lou Thesz Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame induction ceremony was Saturday night in Waterloo, IA. Edge accepted his own award. Jim Ross accepted the award for Bill Watts, while Gerald Brisco accepted for Ric Flair, who did an autograph show in California. Matt Hughes was given an award and did a short speech, saying he was a pro wrestling fan as a kid. Brian Shields did a great presentation on WWE history and his books, talking a lot about Bruno Sammartino and Hulk Hogan, and showed the first-ever WWF Magazine, Wrestling's Action, written by George Napolitano. There was also an AWA Q&A.

Roddy Piper was the subject of a Biography Channel show "The Haunting" this past Saturday night. Piper claimed he had been haunted by visits from the late Adrian Adonis, and he was visibly upset, saying he was like a brother to him

Jake Roberts posted on Twitter "Have been true to my 90 meetings n 90 days to keep sobriety strong since bump n road. Support has been great and sponsors enlighting me ? So very happy Bobby Eaton surgery success gives me hope that someday he will get recognition he deserves. The most underrated of all time ? Another movie in the works also. Jim Cornette and Mark James have released a book called Rags, Paper and Pins: The Merchandising of Memphis Wrestling, which will be available at the Mid-Atlantic Fan Fest August 1st through 4th in Charlotte, NC.

Bobby Riedel posted on Facebook "Please to announce that Greg ?The Hammer? Valentine will be attending the Jones Beach Pro Wrestling Event on August 5th. Belltime 7 PM FREE admission. Michael York announced his retirement from professional wrestling last week. He is a former 2 time Compound Heavyweight Champion and a former 3 time Compound Tag Team Champion. He has held several other titles at promotions in Oklahoma, Kansas, and Arkansas. His last match was June 7th at Compound Pro Wrestling against the Canadian Red Devil in Tulsa. Compound Pro Wrestling wishes him the best of luck in his future endeavors. Watch for him to be climbing the ranks of professional bowling in the near future.
