TCW Offers Rumble Riot In Clarksville

On the horizen of Traditional Championship Wrestling?s (TCW) second annual Rumble Riot on Saturday at the Marvin Vinson Center, the company has signed its second television deal in as many months.
TCW signed with Cox Sports Television (CST) in June for a one-hour high-definition show at 11 p.m. every Friday. Less than a month later, the organization signed a second deal with the Pursuit Channel for a one-hour show which will air at midnight on Fridays.
According to company founder Matt Riviera, the signing solidifies TCW as the No. 3 wrestling company in the United States.
?At this point, short of getting a deal with a national network, we?re about as big as we can get at this time in regard to television coverage.?
Between the two channels, TCW will be broadcast in 40 million U.S. homes.
TCW, which got its start as a traveling wrestling show, has had to adjust to the weekly exposure. Riviera said the company has put an emphasis on continuity in storytelling.
?Our creative team meets more often to make sure that compelling television is written on a compelling basis,? he explained. ? It?s [being on television] has made everybody in the company step up more, and we?ve had to expand our staff significantly.?
TCW began with 15 wrestlers on staff and currently employs more than 50 sports entertainers.
?We also have a full-time sales staff for the first time in company history,? Riviera said. ?We?ve hired two more graphic designers and we?ve expanded our roster of wrestlers significantly.?
TCW?s deal with the Pursuit Channel falls just before Saturday night?s Rumble Riot in Clarksville. Riviera said the event would be a television taping.
The Rumble Riot features a battle royal where wrestlers are eliminated by being forced out of the ring over the top rope until the last man standing is declared winner and recipient of a $15,000 prize.
The event is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m.
