Tag Champions Show Their Swag In Solo Efforts

Tag Champions Show Their Swag In Solo Efforts

To make a good tag team, you have to start with 2 good singles wrestlers.

UWE Tag Team Champions Nasy Swag proved that point this past Wednesday at a special morning event for the local Boys & Girls Clubs. Both men were successful in their respective singles matches and are looking forward to retaining their titles against future competition.

Robert Lee was the first to see action as he took on Graham Bell and X-Statik in a Triple Threat match. Lee did not have any crowd support, but both Bell and X-Statik split the enthusiastic crowd of 500+ in terms of approval. And it appeared that one of the fan favourites would end up successful in this opportunity as X-Statik took Lee out of the ring with a top-rope move. Bell soon tried to follow up with a high-risk move of his own. But that had allowed Lee the opportunity to recover and dump Bell out of the ring, then pin X-Statik. Essentially, Bell did all of the dirty work for Lee. And Lee was thrilled.

Lee had two opponents to work through, but Ace might have had as many as six as he was entered in a Gauntlet Battle Royal. The match began with Jake O'Brien and Ace Archuleta was the last to enter the ring. But not many of the other competitors had been eliminated and with men such as Kyle Everlast, Mr. Big and Rolling Thunder involved, it would take a lot of people to take them out. Ultimately it came down to the 1st man and the last man and with a powerful clothesline, Ace eliminated Jake and won the match. As unliked as Robert Lee is in Broken Arrow, the fans love Ace Archuleta. Lee even came out to congratulate his tag team partner and was astonished to see the fans mobbing him, so much so that he left in disgust.

What Nasty Swag needs to focus on now is preparing for their next tag team title defence. Certainly the K. C. Wolves are in line. And other teams have been rumoured to be making their way to UWE. Ace & Robert need to be prepared to fight off all challenges if they expect to remain tag team champions for the remainder of 2013.
