Sting: Will His Apparent Frustration with TNA Finally Bring Him to WWE?

Sting?s recent comments about his standing in TNA are perhaps the strongest indication that he may be bound for the WWE sooner rather than later.

He recently tweeted his displeasure with the TNA creative team following his loss to TNA champion Bully Ray at last weekend?s Slammiversary pay-per-view. The tweet was short and to the point: ?Sunday I was left to fight alone...Message received!?

This week, in an interview with the VOC Nation Radio Network (as reported by WrestlingInc.com), the wrestling legend continued to be critical of TNA?s bookers and where they are taking him:

It's a question I've asked myself and thrown out a few times here and there. I've wondered what (the TNA Booking Team's) intentions are. When I was inducted into the Hall of Fame, I asked Dixie if she was putting me out to pasture and she said ?Absolutely not.? I'm giving you a straight-up answer: It (all of these actions) makes me wonder.

He also said in the interview how much he would love to work a match with The Undertaker and "who would not want to work WrestleMania??

The current storyline in TNA has Sting at odds with Hulk Hogan over Sting?s ?trust? of Bully Ray as a solid company citizen and a fine son-in-law. Their relationship all went up in smoke when Bully Ray won the belt, turned on TNA and became president of the Aces & Eights heel stable.

Since then, Hogan and Sting have exchanged harsh words and expanded the aura of distrust. Judging by what Sting had to say this week about TNA, that feud may have been the start of Sting?s eventual exit.

The Stinger certainly is not campaigning for TNA Employee of the Year with what he has been saying and tweeting lately. He sounds like a man who realizes he is a lot closer to the door than the center of the room, and he is not going quietly.

And when you are that close to the door, there is only one direction to go?out.

And straight into WWE.

WWE fans have to be salivating that one of the greatest ever to step into a ring could be a free agent soon. WWE management also could view a Sting signing as a response to TNA's announcement this week that MMA star Quinton ?Rampage? Jackson was joining its roster.

If Sting were to sign with WWE, fans would hope that the company would handle him much better than the last TNA star to jump ship last year.

You remember him, don?t you? A guy by the name of Ric Flair. He received the returning hero?s welcome, but following a brief (and quite awkward) program with The Miz and Antonio Cesaro, the conquering hero has gone somewhat MIA.

Sting is 10 years younger than Flair, but he's no spring chicken, either. At 54, he may not have the speed or skills of years ago, but he still can hold his own in the ring.

I?m not saying Sting would be the WWE savior. But as much as fans have been clamoring for him to come to WWE and bring his career full circle, I see nothing wrong with him signing a WWE Legends contract to come in and have a few good matches.

Like Undertaker and Chris Jericho, Sting is among the best at putting younger talent over, and there is a fair amount of good young talent who would give their right arm to learn from a legend like Sting. To prove that point, all you have to do is look at the gift of time Undertaker gave Dean Ambrose and the rest of The Shield a few weeks ago. Now, they really appear unstoppable.

WWE could even make him Undertaker?s opponent for WrestleMania XXX in New Orleans, especially if that event turns out to be Undertaker?s swan song. Sure, some within the WWE Universe would like to see John Cena finally challenge The Streak. But many more would love to see Sting be Undertaker?s potentially final opponent.

Imagine the crowd reaction when?not if?Sting locks the Scorpion on Undertaker or Undertaker hits Sting with the Tombstone Piledriver. Two icons would be locking horns for the first, and probably only, time.

At the Super Bowl this year, half the lights inside the Mercedes-Benz Superdome went out during the game. Given the popularity of these two wrestlers, an Undertaker vs. Sting contest at WrestleMania XXX could blow out every light in the stadium?as well as half of the lights in Louisiana.
