L. J. McDaniels: Total Control of SWCW Equals No Control At All!

It should not have come as a surprise.

Given their long history, no one should have been surprised that Kareem Sadat and SWCW owner L. J. McDaniels would not get along.

But L. J. is a master manipulator of people. For almost a year, he had everyone convinced that he had turned over a new leaf. That he was a different man.

And maybe he was. Perhaps it was just the power of the postition that went to his head. But when he agreed to appoint Sadat as commissioner for SWCW, it soon became apparent that there were going to be problems. He instituted a dress code for office employees. He set forth unexpected rules and regulations. And he did not seem willing to listen to people, such as Sadat, when it came to suggestions about how SWCW would be run.

Sadat tried to comply with the rules. Even though it is not his style, he attempted to meet the dress code. But Sadat is not one to listen to other people tell him what to do. And he is still very loyal to Kevin James Sanchez. Sanchez and Brock Landers were the last two competitors in a Battle Royal to fill the vacant SWCW All-American Championship. It appeared Sanchez would take the title, but SWCW Champion Rick Russo yanked the top rope down as Landers whipped Sanchez into them. This dumped Sanchez over the top and allowed Landers to win the title. Technicallly, it was not illegal, as there are no DQs in a Battle Royal. But it certainly was not fair. And Sadat witnessed it all. So, a few segments later, Sadat came out and called Landers out. Sadat informed Landers that he would be facing a special opponent at the Cristopher Crow Memorial Show on June 29. And that seems to have been the point where L. J. snapped.

L. J., Russo and the newly returned John E. Stone joined Sadat and Landers in the ring, L. J. sternly informed Sadat that he was not supposed to be present and before Sadat could protest or question this, L. J. fired Sadat! Before Sadat could respond, L. J. said he did not want Sadat to think he was a bad guy, so he had a parting gift. At that point, the B. M. F. members attacked Sadat, beating him down until the locker room emptied and chased them off. Sadat made a quick succinct farewell, thanking the fans for their support.

Before leaving the ring, Kevin James Sanchez told Sadat and the fans that he would fight for Sadat if he had to. And Sanchez returned after the next match to address issues with referee Bill Lebeaux. After that confrontation became physical, once again the B. M. F. arrived to take out Kevin, but Havoc, who had already handed Russo a loss in a non-title match, quickly came to the ring and scattered the B. M. F. members. Not to be outdone, L. J. McDaniels exercised his ownership powers, making a 2-on-3 handicap match for the main event. A match which McDaniels would be participating in!

But even with undisputed control of SWCW, there still seemed to be some things McDaniels could not be prepared for. One of those was those was the unexpected appearance of Death Row 2nd. Death Row came down the ramp after the match began and joined Sanchez and Havoc as their third partner. McDaniels was so flabbergasted that he did not protest this and allowed the match to become a standard 6-man tag. But then, Death Row was unmasked and revealed as Kareem Sadat! And again, L. J. could only stand in amazement as the recently terminated SWCW employee now stood in the opposite corner from him. And every chance Sadat had to be in the ring with L. J., he took it, ultimately gaining the win after executing a Stunner.

McDaniels appears to be completely out of control of SWCW. He contacted Oklafan.com, demanding to know why we listed the match as a loss for his team when, in his opinion, the match should have been thrown out after Sadat stepped foot in the ring. He also intended to address the situation with the SWCW Board of Directors. While many things remain unclear, including the true relationship between McDaniels and B. M. F., it is obvious that McDaniels wants nothing to do with Sadat. McDaniels is currently in the SWCW Hardcore Title, which has been vacant since Sadat retired from in-ring competition. Sadat challenged McDaniels for that title, but McDaniels refused.
