WWE: King Kong Bundy May Be Second Member of the Hall of Fame Class of 2013

Apparently, WWE is ready to announce a second legend to join Mick Foley in the Hall of Fame class of 2013.

PWInsider.com quoted a tweet from King Kong Bundy Sunday afternoon stating that Bundy expects to be the second inductee into the Hall of Fame. In the tweet, Bundy states that a ?huge announcement? is expected on Raw?s 20th Anniversary show Monday night.

PWInsider.com quoted Bundy?s tweet as claiming, ?Someone listened to the #Bundyholics regarding my Hall of Fame.?

So far, there has been no confirmation from WWE about an induction of the big man from the New Jersey shore.

The Hall of Fame ceremony is set for April 6 at New York's Madison Square Garden. The next night, WrestleMania 29 will be held at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.

Bundy, born Chris Pallies in Atlantic City, had a 25-year career in the wrestling ring. After stints in World Class Championship Wrestling, AWA and NWA, he joined WWF/E in 1985.

Although he never held any championships in WWF/E, Bundy had a huge impact on the company in the 1980s. One of his gimmicks involved getting the referee to extend the count to five whenever he pinned his opponent.

The pin usually followed his Atlantic City Avalanche finishing move, a nod to his hometown. And since Bundy weighed more than 440 pounds, that finishing move was an appropriate one for him.

Bundy was a featured act in the first few WrestleManias. According to his Wikipedia entry, he defeated S.D. Jones in nine seconds at the first WrestleMania in New York.

That rates as the second-fastest victory in WrestleMania history.

At the next WrestleMania, Bundy lost to Hulk Hogan in a Steel Cage match for Hogan?s WWF Championship. At WrestleMania 3, he was disqualified for bodyslamming and then elbowing a little wrestler in a mixed tag team match.

Bundy left WWF/E for six years, then returned as a member of Ted DiBiase?s ?Million Dollar Corporation.? He stayed with the company until 1995 and appeared in WrestleMania 11, where he lost to the Undertaker.

After several years on the independent circuit, Bundy stopped wrestling in 2006. He has since tried his hand at acting and comedy.

If the Bundy induction does become official, that means two members of the 2013 Hall slate will have ties to the location of WrestleMania 29; Foley lives in Long Island, N.Y.
