WWE News: Triple H Possibly Interested in Sting for Hall of Fame

In recent news, Triple H does not want former WCW and TNA World Champion Sting to re-sign with TNA.

Instead, he is highly interested in acquiring Sting for a licensing deal with WWE for merchandise and home videos (h/t Wrestling Inc). Triple H is also interested in Sting to be an inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame.

Although this is a high priority for Triple H, it is not one for Vince McMahon.

Sting has been a flagship competitor and a franchise in both WCW and TNA. This year, he was the first inductee of the TNA Hall of Fame.

There is no question that the merits of Sting deserve to be in the Hall of Fame.

He is admittedly one of Ric Flair's favorite rivals, as they competed numerous times in the NWA/WCW from the late 1980s, all throughout the 1990s and into the early 2000s.

The two competed in the final match of Monday Night Nitro in March of 2001.

Sting has been a dedicated competitor in the pro wrestling industry for nearly 30 years. Undoubtedly, he is the most successful wrestler to never step foot in the WWE?something that he can hold his head high about, seeing that nearly every wrestler in rivaled promotions desired the fame and paycheck that the WWE offered, even if it meant a demotion.

Dusty Rhodes, anyone?

There are other wrestlers that are in the Hall of Fame that were not known for competing in the WWE. Namely, Verne Gagne and Nick Bockwinkel.

If Sting does not renew his contract and signs with the WWE, there also may be a possibility for the dream match between him and Undertaker to occur.

All things considered, this should be a good move for Sting if it goes forth.

Not to be on the active roster, but to showcase more publicly?through video footage, merchandise and a well-deserved H.O.F induction?one of the most popular and energetic wrestlers to ever step foot in the ring.
