Making An Impact, Pt. 2

Making An Impact, Pt. 2

Posted: Jul 14th 2012 By: CMBurnham

In Part 1 of this article, the feud between the rival Impact, Inc. groupings were discussed as it pertained to IZW. And for quite a long time, Impact, Inc. has confined thier activities to IZW. But there is another place that the powerful faction once reigned surpreme in. And little did the unsuspecting fans in MSWA realise that everything was about to turn upside down when they arrived at the show on Sunday.

Sunday's MSWA show opened with a match between IZW Tag Team Champion Kevin Morgan and Brandon Bishop. It was Bishop's first appearance in an MSWA ring in almost 7 years and while the match was competitive, it didn't turn out the way he wanted as Morgan hit the Spear and put Bishop down for the 3-count. After the match, the MSWA commissioner went to shake Bishop's hand in an attempt at respect, but Bishop slapped him, irritating the gentle giant. This resulted in a huge running powerslam on Bishop.

And then everything went to hell.

Erica arrived through the curtain unannounced, dressed in business attire, and stepped into the ring. She said that she had witnessed enough of Morgan's abuse of power. He was the commissioner, but he used his position to put himself into main event matches and earn title shots. That wouldn't not be continuing. Erica handed Morgan an envelope containing legal papers which stated that she is now the commissioner of MSWA and as a result, Morgan's services were no longer needed, not just as commissioner, but also as a wrestling talent. In short, Erica fired Kevin Morgan.

But that wasn't the end as Erica went on to reveal that her first official action as commissioner was to reinstate Impact, Inc! The villanous group had been forced to leave MSWA on March 6, 2011 when they lost a 6-man elimination tag team match to Kevin Morgan, Xavior and Double D (and ironically, Erica was at ringside in the winners' corner for that match). But now they were back and the strains of "Comfortable Liar" piped through the speakers as Johnny Z, Jermaine Johnson & Jordan Jacobs cockily strutted down the aisle to the ring.

John took the microphone, but before he could speak, the music for Nemesis hit and IZW & MSWA Tag Team Champion Damon Windsor and BYEW Tag Team and MSWA Mid-South Champion Rage Logan came to the ring. Rage says that Impact, Inc. is something from the past and they are the future. The crowd appeared to agree with them as a "You suck!" chant broke out and Nemesis egged it on. Rage continued saying that no one was going to come to their company and try to take it away from them.

But Erica took over there, saying that she didn't authourise microphone time for Nemesis and stating that they had proven nothing in their time there. She then revealed that they would have a chance to do so that night, as Windsor would face Jermaine Johnson and Johnny Z would get an opportunity to reclaim the MSWA title that he never actually lost (which is true, as Johnny was still champion when forced to leave MSWA).

Impact, Inc. was all over the show after intermission. In an unannounced challenge, Jordan Jacobs defeated the Canadian Red Devil with some help from outside distractions. CRD had Jacobs in the Sharpshooter, but Johnson distracted the referee as Jacobs desperately tapped out. CRD got up and knocked Johnson off the ring apron, but that gave Jacobs time to recover and lock in the cross armbreaker, forcing CRD to tap out.

Windsor and Johnson put on a tremendous match, with Windsor fighting overwhelming odds. Erica banned both Rage Logan and Nikki Knight from ringside, but allowed Jordan Jacobs to remain along with herself. Despite the 3-on-1 odds, Windsor was able to catch Johnson in an arrogant moment, leading an "Impact, Inc.!" chant, and powerfully chokeslam him to the mat. As he went for the cover, Jacobs scooted into the ring and broke up the pin, resulting in a DQ loss for his group. But that didn't matter as they were more interested in doing damage to the tag team champion. After what seemed like an eternity, Logan arrived with a steel chair and fought Impact, Inc. off, then helped his partner to the back as he had a match of his own to look to.

That match never happened, though. Johnny Z and Erica came to the ring and Logan was announced, but the sound of steel chairs flying was heard from the back, then Logan came tumbling through the curtain. Shortly after, Johnson and Jacobs stepped through, steel chairs in hand and stared down at their victim. Despite being the victim of this vicious attack, Logan tried to fight to get to the ring, but was unable to make it to his feet and had to be helped to the back. Johnson and Jacobs headed that direction as Erica clarified that there was never supposed to be a match for the MSWA title. She just said that Johnny would get the opportunity to reclaim the title that he never lost. And Jermaine Johnson did the honours by presenting the belt to "The Saviour of Wrestling In Oklahoma".

This was too much for Damon Windsor to bear and he dashed to the ring, ready to take on everyone there. But as much as his heart was into it, the odds gave him no chance at success and with no partner able to back him up, Windsor looked to be headed to the hospital after yet another brutal beating. The crowd began to chant for Kevin Morgan and Erica reminded them that she had fired him. Apparently, Morgan didn't quite get that memo as he came running down the aisle to a thunderous ovation and joined Windsor in cleaning the ring from Impact, Inc.

Oklafan has checked with MSWA owner Bad Boy and he has confirmed that Johnny Z may have possession of the belt, but he is NOT the MSWA champion. That title still belongs to Rage Logan. Bad Boy also said that he has an announcement to make to the fans and to Impact, Inc. at the next MSWA show on July 22.
