Can Kyzer Tap The Maniac?

David Kyzer is an obsessed man.

He firmly believes that he should be the SWCW Champion. And he had the opportunity to prove that at the Crisstopher Crow Memorial Cup Tournament event when he faced SWCW Champion Manaic Mike for the title. In his opinion, he had the match won when the time limit ran out and the match was ruled a draw.

While Maniac Mike retained his title, he knew the issue between himself and Kyzer wasn't over and after listening to Kyzer and his manager L. J. McDaniels run their mouths about the match, he and his associates, Kevin James Sanchez and Kyzer's own brother Kareem Sadat, came to the ring. Sadat countered every argument that McDaniels and Kyzer put up regarding the SWCW Title and Kyzer finally blew his cool, challenging Sadat to a match. Sadat agreed, as long as Kyzer put his #1 contendership on the line. Kyzer agreed, but added the stipulation that if he won, he got to name a stipulation in his SWCW Title match on July 14th at "Scars & Stripes".

Both men went at it as only family members could, holding nothing back. And surprisingly, Sadat showed that he could match Kyzer hold for hold. But with McDaniels at ringside, referee Brock Landers was not able to focus on the in-ring action the entire time. And McDaniels successfully distracted the referee, allowing Kyzer to make use of a chair that had been slid to him. Instead of hitting Sadat with it, Kyzer hit the ring mat, then threw the chair to Sadat and collapsed to the mat. When Landers turned around, he knew what he had heard and could only interpret what he saw, disqualifying Sadat and allowing Kyzer to pick the stipulation for his Heavyweight title match.

But Kyzer didn't reveal that stipulation before leaving the ring. Instead, he chose to humiliate Sadat by cutting the points off his traditional Middle Eastern boots that he'd had for most of his career. Thankfully Maniac Mike and the SWCW Tag Team Champions The New Age Syndicate came to his aid before worse damage could be done.

Kyzer would reappear later during the show when Maniac Mike put his title on the line against Tyson Jaymes. He simply sat at ringside or sometimes stood up, but did not interfere directly in the match as it progressed. Nonetheless, it was obvious that his presence was a distraction to both men. And when it looked like Tyson was going to win the match and the title after applying a Full Nelson Slam, Kyzer grabbed referee Crazy Charlie and pulled him from the ring. Charlie threw the match out, but Kyzer had just begun. After disposing of Tyson, he brought a chair in the ring and was joined by L. J. McDaniels in using it to severely injure the leg of Maniac Mike. After stomping on the chair and causing untold injury, Kyzer stood over Mike and announced to the assembled crowd that he wanted a Submission Match at "Scars and Stripes". Mike could not respond and fortunately Tyson Jaymes recovered from his earlier beating and entered the ring with his own chair to clear out the offensive duo.

But the damage has been done. To be honest, Mike's recent series of title defenses haven't looked very strong recently. The last time he gained a pinfall victory was on March 31st over Scott Sanders. The next 2 1/2 months show 2 wins by DQ, one Time Limit Draw and one No-Contest. While it's true that Mike can retain the title under all those circumstances, that's not what he wants to do. He NEEDS a victory by Submission to prove that he is a strong champion. Kyzer simply wants a victory, whatever way he can earn it, in order to claim the one active title in SWCW that he has never held. And with an injury so bad that Mike was unable to walk out on his own, it looks like the natural advantage may lie in the challenger's corner.
