TNA News: Dixie Carter Announces First Inductee to Hall of Fame

The wait is finally over, as TNA has unveiled their first inductee to their newly created Hall of Fame.

Since Friday afternoon, there has been much speculation that it would be WWE IC champ Christian. Especially considering Dixie Carter teased his appearance at Slammiversary via Twitter:

On a plane headed to Dallas for the big PPV this weekend. Very excited @Christian4Peeps is joinin us for the night. He's one of my favorites

Then Sunday afternoon, fans were treated to the following tweet from Carter, which furthered the speculation:

Fun to have @Christian4Peeps in the house & on Slammiversary PPV 2night. Great to see you!

Meanwhile, Captain Charisma has been mum on the event?in fairness, he hasn't tweeted since May 20th. So, after that tweet we officially knew Christian had arrived, yet there still has been no mention as to why he was there.

At this point, it all but appeared the peeps would witness another milestone in Christian's career. However, that is not the case. As Dixie Carter announced at Slammiversary, TNA's most loyal employee Sting would be the standard for TNA's hall of Fame.

This selection was the right one, as the only other realistic options are TNA founders Jeff and Jerry Jarret. Sting has been a part of TNA pretty much since it's inception. Not to mention, Sting has gone on record and stated that there were four times during his TNA tenure that he was courted by WWE.

Every time he turned them down and stuck with TNA.

At the end of the day, Sting is an icon in this business and is arguably the biggest name to never wrestle for the WWE. Ultimately, this was a great move by TNA, as they rewarded Sting for his loyalty and finally gave him the due he deserved.
