Pro Wrestlers Square Off With Cancer

BROKEN ARROW, OK ? Oklahoma independent professional wrestlers are stepping into the ring to help one family?s struggle with a deadly brain tumor. Compound Professional Wrestling and United Wrestling Entertainment are uniting with Save Ryder for a special one night fundraising event ? Wrestling For a Cause (WFC) ? to raise money for the family of Chelsea Brooke Brantwein of Thomas, OK. Brantwein, 15, has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Glioblastoma, one of the deadliest types of brain tumors.

Brantwein, a Jr High Cheerleader and a member of her school band, recently became an aunt for the first time. She has two sisters and a close companion in her dog, Carley, and has a passion for photography. Brantwein first began exhibiting signs of illness over the holidays in 2010, and was formally diagnosed with Stage 4 Glioblastoma on February 11th, 2011. After experimental procedures in Houston, Texas failed to combat the tumor, Brantwein has begun staying at the Houston Ronald McDonald House near the hospital with her mother, while her father stays in motels when he's able to join them in Houston.

WFC is a one night supercard fundraiser featuring the stars of Tahlequah-based UWE and Tulsa-based Compound Pro Wrestling, to be held at the Broken Arrow Boys and Girls Club at 1400 W. Washington St in Broken Arrow, OK. Tickets are only $5. All proceeds will go towards helping the Brantwein family with their travel, living and medical expenses.

Four matches have currently been announced:

?The Texas Veteran? Bernard Funk vs ?The Space Cowboy? Jason Jones in an Old School Bunkhouse Brawl.

Cast-Iron Cothern battles X-Cal in a Strong Style vs High Flyer match.

The Ring Intruders (Jon Cross and Fuel) battle Christopher Fury and Terry Kage in tag team action.

A huge battle royal will take place featuring many of your favorite Compound and UWE stars.
