SRPW Shock And Awesome Recap

SRPW Shock And Awesome Recap

Posted: Apr 28th 2012 By: CMBurnham

In the opening contest the 400 pound "Gorilla" in the room, Nate Martinez defeated the duo of Kobra Venom and Kobra Kai representing the Kobra Dojo. This match stemmed from Nate Martinez's debuting victory over Kobra Kai back on March 31st. "Gorilla" Nate Martinez still stands undefeated with a 2-0 record.

Bobby Burns was victorious in what you could boil down to being a handicap match as he defeated B-Rabbit with his debuting manager of B-Arthur. B-Arthur has been identified as one of the individuals who assaulted Jake O'Brien back in February, particularly the gentlemen wearing the black turtle neck who Bobby Burns then proceeded to pummel. This on top of B-Rabbit's need for revenge that results from the tag match back on March 21st that had him paired with Christopher Fury against Jake O'Brien & Bobby Burns. Made this match a little more personal then some would be led to believe, but even with the interference of the "Golden Boy" B-Rabbit could not pull one out of his hat as he was defeated by the "Bonecrusher" 1-2-3 after a Western Lariat/Leg Drop combo

As announced last week the following match was Scott Riley .vs. Khaos, before the match could begin Khaos accused Scott Riley of turning on his "brother" King James just as his "brother" Anarchy had turned on him. Thus making this match an extension of that betrayal as well as making Khaos a proxy for King James who is still suffering side effects from the chair shot and DDT delivered by Scott Riley. A back and forth match was to follow with neither man getting the upper hand until Khaos was able to catch the upper-hand and delivered a Khaopractor (Pump Handle Backbreaker) followed up with a Sitout Sideslam that put Riley down for the 3 count! But a question that know one has asked, and and an answer that has not been given...why was Sasha ringside with Scott Riley but not with the SRPW Tag Team Champions, the Future Endeavours?

We pick back up after the intermission of the show as we had "Your Girl's Favorite Wrestler and The Franchise of SPRW" Ace Archuleta taking on the former United States Champion J. B.! In a match that you could tell J. B. was not ready for, still suffering mental ramifications of losing his US title. Ace Archuleta stayed completely in control of the former champion, showing off his strength and ever increasing skills as he made short work of the dethroned champ defeating him with "Your Girl's Favorite Move." One could only imagine what is going through J. B.'s head. Losing his title in a match, where the odds were stacked against him is nothing to let go to your head. But it seems with losing his US title, J. B. may be a broken man.

In the Semi-Main Event we saw the end to a long time rivalry between two men who broke into the business together. In one corner it was the active commissioner Robbie Awesome against his once friend and ally in "The Foundation"..."The Warrior" Kyle Everlast! The match was not your simple one on one contest no it was a Last Man Standing match in which both men made lofty wagers. Kyle Everlast putting up his career and US Title against Robbie Awesome's commissionership reign. Would the 4 month reign of a Napoleonic wannabe come to an end, or would the "Warrior" meet his end on the battlefield? In a match that saw Robbie Awesome unloaded a massive amount of chair shots on Kyle Everlast, it was those same chair's that came back to bite Robbie Awesome in the end. In a brutal display of power, Kyle Everlast delivered not one but two "Warrior Fall's" on setup chairs to finally put down the Commissioner for the 10 count. With the end of the match it brings to an end a 4 month tyrannical reign, and over a half of year of an intensive rivalry. But more questions were raised by the match as half way through J. B., the former US champion, interfered on what looked like on behalf of Robbie Awesome as he tried to Clothesline Kyle Everlast but missing his intended target and receiving a Superkick from Robbie Awesome in return. Maybe we will receive an answer tomorrow at "Guts & Glory"

In the Main Event, that was without a doubt the match of the night. We saw the team of Ray Martinez and the reigning SRPW Tag Team Champions "The Future Endeavours" (Sam Stackhouse & Crossfire Morrison) take on "The Extreme One" Kid Krazy, Mitch Baxter and the SRPW Heavyweight champion "The Ginger Avenger" Jake O'Brien. In a match that was fast & furious from the opening bell we saw both Kid Krazy and Jake O'Brien take flight as Kid Krazy delivered a Tope Con Hilo to Sam Stackhouse followed up by an Apron Cannonball to Stackhouse & Morrison by The Ginger Avenger. This left Ray Martinez and Mitch Baxter in the ring, Baxter getting the one-up on Martinez as Ray was mocking that he too was going to go High Risk ran into the first of Mitch Baxter who was waiting for the mocking Martinez. After the initial ruckus after the opening bell, things slowed down just a little as Kid Krazy was isolated by the opposing team. Showing signs of a comeback as the match went on, Kid Krazy just could not seem to overcome the odds as he was dismantled by all 3 members of Team Martinez who unloaded on him signature move after signature move. But it was a mistake on Stackhouse's part that Krazy capitalized on hitting a Satellite DDT and getting the tag to very anxious SRPW Champion who came in on preverbal fire exploding on all Ray Martinez and Crossfire Morrison. Finishing up by hitting a Finlay Roll on Morrison set up perfectly a tag to Mitch Baxter, who came in to get some of his own by delivering a thunderous German Suplex to Morrison. But this left him prawn for a Bubba Bomb from Stackhouse, delivering it from behind with excessive force. With Baxter splatter against the mat, Stackhouse went for the Big Splash but Baxter was merely playing possum delivering a Step Up Curb Stomp to a kneeling Stackhouse who was still suffering the consequences of the missed Splash. Chris Morrison was still the legal man though attempted to take off Baxter's head with a Lariat, but missed allowing Baxter to capitalize with a "Baxter Climax" (Ace Crusher). The KO'd Morrison was unable to move from the position Baxter dropped him, as Mitch tagged in Jake to deliver a Ginger Ale-bow Drop from the Top Rope for the 1-2-3!

After the main event, Sam Stackhouse took out his frustration with the loss by taking a Singapore Cane to the back of his own partner! These surprising turn of events left the crowd stunned, even the men who just competed against Crossfire Morrison were left speechless before jumping to the aid to the young man. Jake O'Brien took it upon himself to get the loose cannon of Sam Stackhouse off Crossfire, fighting him to the back to ensure that no one else felt the wrath of the Kendo Stick.
