A Busy Night At The Underground

A Busy Night At The Underground

Posted: Apr 26th 2012 By: CMBurnham

Saturday night in front of a capacity crowd at The Underground Arena, New SWCW Commissioner, and Chris Kuhn started the show by bringing out Kevin James Sanchez to make his major announcement. Sanchez, who was accompanied by fellow Brothers of Hardcore, Kareem Sadat and SWCW Champion Maniac Mike, announced that due to having triple hernia surgery, his Doctor has refused to clear him to wrestle so he had no choice but to step down as an active SWCW wrestler. As a result David Kyzer automatically advances to the semifinals of the Crisstopher Crow Memorial Cup Invitational Tournament.

Before he could leave the ring, Outlaw?s music hit and he came down to the ring and questioned the reasoning behind not being put into the Hall of Fame back in December. Outlaw also told Drake Gallows mother and girlfriend that he was marked for extinction. After he and Rick Garret had words Outlaw left the arena.

The first match saw Se7en, Brock Landers, and Tyson Jaymes in a triple threat match. A match that was mostly dominated by both of the larger men, Tyson hit the Tyson Cutter (RKO) of the second rope on Brock Landers to get the win.

In what was the first of two debuts, Special K took on Maniac Mike in what was billed as a Golden Opportunity match. The two went back and forth with Maniac Mike eventually taking the advantage. After hitting his Triple Threat Suplexes, and locking Special K into a submission maneuver, MSWA Owner, Bad Boy, disguised in a security shirt slid into the ring and began to trade blows with the SWCW Champ. After hitting Mike with a DDT Mr. Kuhn waived down John E. Stone, LJ McDaniels, Rick Russo, and Hillbilly to clear the ring. Afterwards, the Commissioner got on the mike and let Bad Boy know that Sooner will be at the next Mid-South show in full force.

To finish out the first part of the show All American Champion John E Stone defeated Chaz Sharpe in a non-title match.

After intermission, The second debut match was Mr. DDT, Demarco Tate vs. Drake Gallows. In a show of sportsmanship, the two men shook hands before they started their match. In one of the biggest surprises of the night, Tate took Drake to the limit hitting multiple high risk maneuvers as well as to spike DDT?s on Gallows. In the end experience overcame hunger as Drake surprised Mr. DDT by catching him in mid run and hitting the Emo Killer for the win. After the match the crowd showed their respect as did Drake who helped Demarco to his feet and embraced and raised his hand. Tyson then followed by jumping in the ring and showing how proud he was of the impressive showing by the latest graduate of the Underground Academy.

The Semi main event was for the SWCW Tag Team Championships as the Franchise Players were set to defend the titles against the Syndicate. Les Mayne however, was nowhere to be seen. When LJ thought that he was going to have Stone take his place, Commissioner Kuhn once again came and rained on their parade by informing Stone that he wasn?t going to wrestle and that it would be a handicap match. During Commentary for Underground Television, Chris Kuhn informed LJ McDaniels that The Mayne Event was fined $5,000 for no-showing. The match itself was very one sided until, with the referee distracted Stone and McDaniels used The Syndicate?s own bat and Axe Handle against them.

Finally in the main event, What was originally supposed to be Kareem Sadat vs. David Kyzer for the Hardcore Championship, it seemed that Kyzer wanted no part of it and no showed as well. LJ decided to replace him with Hillbilly and put himself as special guest referee. Commissioner Kuhn advised LJ that if he didn?t call this match down the middle he would be booked in a match with Sadat at the next show in a barbed wire rope match and also that David Kyzer had also been fined $5,000 for no showing the event. This match was completely one sided with Sadat having every bit of offense, that is until Stone and Russo interfered and took Sadat down. Drake Gallows Maniac Mike and Party Man Rick Garrett came to even the odds and once again treat LJ McDaniels like a human bowling pin. Due to the official being incapacitated, Mr. Kuhn declared Kareem Sadat the winner and signed a barbed wire rope tag match between Hillbilly and LJ vs. Sadat and Garrett for a future show.
