NEWS
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that the original plan for the Divas at WrestleMania XXVIII was to have a Beth Phoenix vs. Natalya match, but there is a push from within WWE not to book a divas match at WrestleMania, or feature a divas contest as a dark match. It is believed Kharma would be available to work the match if they move in that direction.

Trish Stratus was interviewed by The Sun in the United Kingdom. In the interview, she said she would come back for a match with Beth Phoenix. She said "With all the teases we?ve had along the way, to have a one-on-one match would be awesome. I?d love to work her. That?s definitely on my bucket list."

Jim Ross joined Sean Grande (the Boston Celtics announcer who is a big fan and used to help write a wrestling newsletter in the 80's) announcing the second quarter of the Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Boston Celtics game. He mentioned Michael Cole a few times. Grande brought up WrestleMania and he ran down the major matches and did a better job in promoting the matches in two minutes than WWE has done in two months. Ross said the match he was most looking forward to was C. M. Punk vs. Chris Jericho.

Jim Ross posted on Twitter "One of my fav MMA fighters, Chael Sonnen, is at RAW tonight. He?s having a great time?just texted me."

Jack Swagger posted on Twitter last Friday: "I was mentioned today on ESPN?s Sport Nation today.. No big deal #YearofSwag".

Dusty Rhodes posted on Twitter "Stand out nite for Maxine in FCW last night , she should b big star bound!"

Mick Foley talks about who he would be interested in facing, the Cena vs. Punk Money in the Bank match, his favorite wrestling theme music and more. You can see the video by clicking here.

Mick Foley is in the United Kingdom doing a series of comedy dates and did an interview for Sky News Radio, which you can watch by clicking here.

A very special episode of "The Slam" saw an exclusive hour long interview with Mick Foley. Mick chatted with host Jim Smallman about a multitude of topics, including (but not limited to) who he would most be interested in wrestling out of the current WWE roster, why he took part in this years Royal Rumble (and how he managed to run to the ring), the Cena/Punk match from Money In The Bank, which wrestling autobiography he'd most like to read, his favourite theme tune and so much more. Kyle Schadler of BleacherReport.com has posted the final parts (parts 3 and 4) of his story "Abandoned: The History of WWE's World Tag Team Championship" and in this part, wrestlers featured are Dude Love, Cactus Jack, Chainsaw Charlie, Mankind, Big Bossman, Jeff Jarrett, Al Snow, Rikishi, Ric Flair, and Roddy Piper To read part 3 of the story, click here while part 4 can be read by clicking here.

C. I. M. of BleacherReport.com wrote a story entitled "WWE: 10 Shawn Michaels Matches That We Never Got to See" and among the dream opponents listed were Chris Adams and Sting. To read the entire story, click here.

Drake Oz of bleacherReport.com wrote a story entitled "WWE: 10 Dream Match Opponents for Randy Orton" and coming in at #1 was Stone Cold Steve Austin. Others on the list include Ted DiBiase at #8, Roddy Piper at #5, his father, Bob Orton, Jr. at #4, and Jake Roberts at #2. To read the entire story, click here.

Brandon Taylor of BleacherReport.com wrote a story entitled "The 10 Most Anticipated Matches in WrestleMania History" and among the matches listed were Hulk Hogan vs. Andre the Giant: WrestleMania III, The Ultimate Challenge (Ultimate Warrior vs. Hulk Hogan): WrestleMania VI, and Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg: WrestleMania XX. To read the entire story, click here.

TNA's Dixie Carter posted on Twitter: "You are asking me about @Sting. I?m dealing with him on my own business issues at the moment. ?I?m done? better not be related to those."

"Eastbound and Down" on HBO last Sunday night had a Ric Flair moment with Will Ferrell doing the Ashley Schaeffer BMW dealership character modeled after Flair. Someone involved with the show has said that they consider it the funniest scene so far this season. Danny McBride, the star of the show, and co-creator Ben T. Best, as well as Ferrell, are all huge Flair fans, and built the character around face to face confrontations and lots of sexual innuendo, which they believe is the essence of 1980's Ric Flair.

Regarding the Forbes Magazine note on the Iron Sheik's Twitter account, it should be noted that the account is a fake. Sheik does not have a Twitter account and in fact, can't read or write English. You can see a recent video of him saying he doesn't have a Facebook or Twitter by clicking here.

Some additional notes regarding the item on The Iron Sheik's twitter. Apparently there are things going on regarding different people who work with Sheik who are feuding over him. According to Dan Mirade, when The Iron Sheik did a video taping with him, Sheik said he had no idea he had either a Twitter or Facebook account on a video that has since been released. According to the Magen Boys, Jian and Page Magen, who manage Sheik and handle his Facebook and Twitter account, they sent out a release written by them as well as Sheik's daughter and business manager Tanya, "Unfortunately a video has surfaced by promoters telling my dad to say that he does not have these accounts. My dad, as fans can attest, sometimes says things that he doesn't understand and is too honest and naive to know that he was being tricked into saying this." They did admit that it is not Sheik himself posting but that the Magen Boys communicate with him daily about his thoughts and then tweet them for him. They also said they are looking at getting Sheik back on WWE programming, having a documentary made on him and getting a family member signed by WWE for developmental. It appears that there are people who are feuding over him, although his daughter has power of attorney and is his business manager. It appears to be a battle of people who have Sheik saying outrageous things and those who don't want him portrayed in that manner, but the former, not the latter, is what gets him attention.

The pilot episode of "The Warrior Show" starring The Ultimate Warrior was posted on You Tube, but it has since been taken down due to a copyright claim by Sumerian Records.

Jody Hamilton booked the recent Universal Championship Wrestling event in Norcross, GA on February 24th. His son, former WCW and WWE referee Nick Patrick, also worked the show and reportedly The Rock-N-Roll Express was the most popular wrestlers on the card.

Jeff Dye of American Icons Autographs was able to catch a few minutes with Bill Orton, Jr., Missy Hyatt, One Man Gang/Akeem, and Debra McMichael at the Frank and Son Collectible Show. You can see the entire video by clicking here.

Daine Pavloski of BleacherReport.com wrote a story entitled "Pro Wrestling's 50 Coolest-Looking Masked Wrestlers Ever" and coming in at #1 was Jushin Liger. Others on the list included Vader at #37, Demolition (Ax & Smash) at #33, Mankind at #21, Ultimate Warrior at #15, Mil Mascaras at #8, and Sting at #5. To read the entire story, click here.

David Levin of BleacherReport.com wrote a story entitled "Pro Wrestling: 16 of the Greatest Wrestlers from Samoa & the Polynesian Islands". Among the wrestlers listed were The Headshrinkers (Samu & Fatu), Jimmy Snuka, and The Wild Samoans (Afa & Sika). To read the entire story, click here.

David Levin also wrote a story entitled "Ranking the 13 Sexiest Female Wrestlers Outside the WWE" and coming in at #1 was Brooke Tessmacher. Also listed was Karen Jarrett (wife of Jeff Jarrett) at #13. To read the entire story, click here.

Louie Babcock of BleacherReport.com wrote a story entitled "4 Wrestlers Who Had Their Wrestling Career Cut Short Due to Injury" and one of the wrestlers listed was Magnum T. A. To read the entire story, click here.

Chris Elliott of BleacherReport.com wrote a story entitled "Pro Wrestling: The 10 Worst Characters in the History of W.W.E and W.C.W" and among those listed was The Berzerker. To read the entire story, click here.

The UWE Tag Team Titles have now been vacant 6 months as of February 27, 2012. The were last held by The Commission (Brett Taylor & Ray Martinez) but they were stripped of the titles on August 27, 2011 for failure to defend them within 30 days.
