Thanks for stopping by our site and especially to those supporting our efforts to grow our family business at http://www.wweshop.com/Category/JimRoss. Let's grill...
Let's address some of your Tweeter questions to @JRsBBQ:
"Thoughts on Nick Diaz testing positive for marijuana?" I don't know all the details or if the test has been definitively confirmed but if true it is horribly irresponsible and unfortunate. No matter one's personal stance on pot use, it's against the rules of the Nevada State Athletic Commission and one can either play by the rules or be defiant and make knucklehead mistakes.
Diaz is a polarizing individual who is tremendously talented inside the Octagon but his personal conduct is self destructive particularly for a career that has a shorter shelf life than most vocations. I am a Diaz fight fan but something is obviously not right with this young man. Whatever help he needs, I hope he receives.
"Is the Rock taking Cena and WM28 seriously?" Be assured of one thing about @TheRock...he wants...he needs to steal the show in Miami. There's no way that Dwayne comes back to the bright lights and big stage to perform against @JohnCena, who is WWE's biggest star, just for the hell of it. Wrestling is in Rock's DNA and he has the motor and mind set to electrify...if you will. I'm intrigued by this match and it seems to be boiling down to a simple matter of respect and appears to be getting more personal by the Tweet.
Ironically, Rock and Cena were both products of organized athletic programs at the collegiate level plus they were both life long fans of sports entertainment which, in my opinion, are great places to start when one's recruiting potential stars.
"Who should be in the WWE HOF?" How do I honestly answer that question other than to provide an opinion which automatically begins debate over someone's favorite that I didn't mention? It's the old damned if you do, damned if you don't scenario.
I do know that I fully understand that the 'celebrity wing' of the WWE HOF is some what 'honorary' and media related as in garnering publicity, etc. I completely separate the two induction distinctions but many do not. For example, "How can Drew Carey be in the WWE HOF and Randy Savage isn't?" Carey is in that 'honorary' wing of which Savage would not be a part of when Randy finally does get inducted. One has nothing to do with the other.
I thought that the WWE HOF got grieve until I read feedback on who the NFL is inducting this year? No Bill Parcells? I'm appalled. Outraged. O.K., only miffed.
"Why is @shawnmichaels coming back to WWE RAW?' I'd suggest to help sell more WrestleMania PPVs. I'm looking forward to seeing HBK live this Monday on Raw from San Diego. BTW, the last time the King and I were in SD aka the 619 we had In 'n Out Burgers before catching our red eyes...I bought...Jerry drove.
@steveaustin called today to shoot the breeze and is about to head to Vancouver to film another action adventure film. I assume it will be released at the end of the year or early next year. I don't know the story line other than Steve said that he had several fight scenes.
"Will Andy Kaufman ever be inducted into the WWE HOF?" Hard to say but I could see that happening. Certainly if Andy were still alive it would be a no brainer and I don't mean to sound crass. Kaufman brought a great deal of attention to wrestling via his issue with Jerry Lawler on the David Letterman Show, etc and by being the "Intergender Wrestling Champion." Apparently 'Man on the Moon' the film about Kaufman starring Jim Carrey with The King and yours truly with a bit part must have been airing recently as I've gotten lots of feedback on it from fans who had previously not seen the Milos Foreman film. BTW Lance Russell, another HOFer in my eyes, did the ring announcing in the movie and I did Lance's role. Don't ask me how that made sense but we all did as directed and had fun doing it.
"Who's my favorite manager?" There's Bobby Heenan and then there's everyone else and that everyone else list is damn impressive. Heenan was in a league of his own.
The Ole Anderson not being inducted with the Four Horsemen matter seems to have died down. Ole has no interest in the WWE HOF for those who haven't kept score.
However, overlooked in this matter by some is the fact that JJ Dillon IS being inducted. JJ has made many viable contributions to the business that many fans are completely unaware. He kept the rudder in the water for the hard partying Horsemen but he also did significant and important work behind the scenes for Jim Crockett Promotions, WCW, and the WWE. JJ was in charge of WWE Talent Relations when I came to work there in 1993. I have tremendous respect for JJ Dillon the talent, the administrator, the man and the father.
"What's the favorite match that you've ever called?" I have no idea nor do I know if I will ever be able to accurately answer that question. Nonetheless I get it every day @JRsBBQ. I've tried to answer it but I've been lucky enough to have called so many great stars in their prime.
This week on Twitter fans sent us a ton of unique, You Tube clips of some of their favorite calls of mine from over the years, many of which I had somewhat forgotten. Some were so long ago that that almost sounded 'new' again.
Wrestlers make the music we fans love to hear and they always will. As Shakespeare said, "the Play is the Thing." It's up to broadcasters to provide the lyrics to the wrestler's music. One of the greatest compliments I ever received was when Ric Flair said that I was the soundtrack to his career. That's amazingly humbling to say the least.
"Will WrestleMania ever take place in London?" For the record, I have no idea where future WrestleMania's will or will not take place. I do know that the event must be LIVE in North America on a Sunday night at 7 eastern time. Not on tape delay but LIVE as it happens. So, with that said, it would seem that a WrestleMania originating from London is unlikely due to the time difference.
Fans asking about outdoor WM's in their area simply need to check with the almanac, the internet, etc and see what the average temperature is for April 1, again, at 7 pm eastern time, for their venue. Yeah, I know about the stadium in Jersey being talked about as hosting a WrestleMania some day and that well may happen but I'll need to see it to believe it.
"Favorite BBQ Sauce from our line? JR's Original is my personal favorite as I like my sauce somewhat sweeter and with no vinegar taste. @steveaustinBSR favorite JR's BBQ Sauce is our HOT which is spicy but 'not set you on fire like Kane did JR once upon a time' hot.
"What is one thing that is missing w/ some of today's young wrestlers?" They aren't hungry enough or willing to challenge a top star for their spot on the roster. Too many talents are content to not make 'waves' and to live quietly and somewhat financially comfortable within their comfort zones. I can assure you that the comfort zone complex is the kiss of death in most organizations and businesses and is not exclusive to sports entertainment.
What's my favorite 'dream match' or matches I'd like to see in their prime? Austin vs. Flair, HBK vs. Jack Brisco, HHH vs. Harley Race, Dan Hodge vs Kurt Angle, Rock vs. Roddy Piper, John Cena vs. Terry Funk, Undertaker vs. Bruiser Brody...for starters.
Recipe idea....Homemade Meatloaf using JR's Chipotle Ketchup and our All Purpose Seasoning.
Thanks for stopping by today and for visiting and supporting us at http://www.wweshop.com/Category/JimRoss for all your BBQ Sauce and delicious condiment desires.
