Championship Greed Ignites Issue Between Walker And Rockwell

Since winning the Any Time/Any Place Contract which guaranteed him a title shot at the ComPro Championship, ComPro Showtime and UWE United States Champion Brandon Walker's uncontrollable ego has gotten worse and worse. Already relishing in the opportunity to call himself "God's Gift To Wrestling", Walker can now revel in the FACT that he is Oklahoma's first Triple Crown Champion in 2012. And his issues with Tim Rockwell have only gotten worse as the months have passed.

Rockwell and Walker crossed paths for the first time in Sperry as "Primetime" challenged the ComPro Champion for the title in a Triple Threat match along with Dutch Hagen. Rockwell won that match, pinning Walker. But Walker still had the contract and reminded everyone of that everytime he could.

When ComPro opened their 2012 year, Walker was an entrant in the 2012 Oklahoma Stampede. The winner of that event would receive a title shot in the main event of the show. But when Walker came out, he entered the ring and then quickly eliminated himself to everyone's confusion. He also took the quick way out in his ComPro Showtime Championship defence against MWA Tag Team Champion Justin Lee, taking all the time to walk around the ring and fold up his t-shirt and ultimately being counted out of the ring.

After intermission, Walker interrupted ring announcer C. M. Burnham and snatched the microphone, again reminding everyone that he had the contract and might be preparing to cash it in at the show on January 28th. Again, it seemed kind of random and just a chance for Walker to brag about himself. But his intentions were much more serious than that.

The Canadian Red Devil, who had entered the Oklahoma Stampede last, was the the winner of the event, ousting Richie Adams at the end. And as such he faced Tim Rockwell for the the ComPro Title in the main event. The match went 20 minutes as both men cautiously sized each other up, attempting to find a weakness. It had been a long time since the Devil had held Heavyweight championship gold and he certainly wanted that around his waist again. But Rockwell wasn't about to just lay down and sacrifice what he had after 8 months as champion.

As things began to heat up between the Devil and Rockwell (with the Devil displaying an aggressive nature he hadn't shown in years), Brandon Walker strode down to the ring and hit the Devil from behind. Then, in a move of sheer opportunistic nature, Walker cashed in his contract on an exhausted Tim Rockwell. Despite protests from the fans, referee Chance Snodgrass had no choice but to start the championship match right then. Rockwell put up a brave fight even though he'd gone for 20 minutes with the Devil. But with a fresh, rested Walker to combat against, the odds were just too much against the champion. Eventually, Walker caught Rockwell with the Defamation of Character and pinned him, becoming the 12th person to hold the ComPro Heavyweight Title.

In something of a reversal of fortune, Walker has been on the receiving end of some random attacks by Rockwell since Rockwell made his debut in the UWE. Rockwell seems to have made something of a reputation for himself in the Tahlequah fed by coming out of the seats and attacking Walker, then running from the building. On Saturday, January 14th, Walker and UWE Champion Fuel faced off against the pairing of Justin Dynamic and Daemon Storm, representing the Commission. Walker took a lot of punishment in the match, but he and Fuel were ultimately victorious, due in part to some miscalculations by UWE commissioner Princess Brittani. Again, after the match, Rockwell attacked from out of nowhere, blindsiding Walker. The two pummeled each other for a couple of minutes before Fuel was able to get Rockwell off his partner. With Rockwell positionedon the ropes, it appeared that Walker might be preparing to go for the "918", but UWE security finally reached the ring and pulled Rockwell clear. They secured him and were escorting him from the ring area (and presumably from the building) when Brittani arrived and stopped them. She then ordered Rockwell released and said that the two of them needed "to talk".

With all 3 titles in his hand, Walker will be a busy man. Presumably, he will have to do double duty at the ComPro event in January 28th, as Rockwell announced at the end of the show on January 7th that he would be cashing in his automatic rematch clause. And, as per the terms of the Showtime Title, he will have to defend it at the show as well. Then, on February 11th, he will be facing Christopher Fury for the UWE United States Title, thanks to Fury being victorious in a 3-out-of-5 Falls Match at the latest UWE event.
