Legendary Japanese Heel Ueda Passes Away

Umanosuke Ueda, the legendary Japanese heel who also worked in the United States as Professor Ito, passed away earlier today at the age of 71.
Ueda was best known as the manager and tag team partner of Tiger Jeet Singh when Singh was one of the top heels in Japan during the 70s and 80s, both in New Japan and later All Japan Pro Wrestling. During that period he headlined shows against many of the biggest names of the era including Hulk Hogan, Antonio Inoki, Stan Hansen, The Funk Brothers, Giant Baba, Jumbo Tsuruta, Genichiro Tenryu and Riki Choshu.
