Final Rematch Ends Cross/Fuel Feud Forever

It's been the centrepiece feud for UWE this year. It resulted in last month's first-ever Ladder Match in UWE. And now, as cliched as it sounds, the rivalry between Jon Cross & UWE Champion Fuel has changed the landscape of UWE. The question is, will that be for the better or the worse?
For months, Cross and Fuel forsook practically everything else to focus on each other. But when Fuel backdropped Cross off a ladder and unlatched the championship belt at "Showdown" in October, it ended the months of aggravation and doubt that had plagued him since the fued began. So when Fuel arrived to the ring to open the UWE show, he had a lot on his mind. He said he'd been wrestling for 10 1/2 years and seen friends die. He'd been put through 4 hours of cardiac training his first night in because the trainer didn't want him, but he captured that trainer's heart. Just the previous weekend, he'd lost 2 of the best friends he had in the business. But through it all, it was the fans that gave him energy. So he did everything he could to make sure they went home happy. He said the issue with Jon Cross was painful because a year ago, he wanted to retire. Other business ventures had gotten his attention and he thought he needed to stop away from the ring, but he didn't want to do so until Cross' head was on straight. But Cross reignited the passion he had for the business and he promised that, even if he was 80, if he was called to a match he would hobble out of his wheelchair and give the fans the best match he had available to him.
The celebration was interrupted by UWE Commissioner Princess Brittani who said that Fuel didn't deserve to wear the title. He won it on his rules, but this time he was going to have to compete under her rules. She wanted the belt back in the Commission and planned to fire Fuel after Cross won it back, just like she did Blue Thunder the previous month. At this point, Jon Cross came out and told Brittani to shut up. This shocked the crowd in a good way and Cross continued on, saying that the belt truly belonged to Fuel. The ladder match was, in Cross' opinion, hell. He'd been unable to capitalise on his rematch in Poteau and when he saw the flyer for this event, advertising it as the "final rematch", it didn't make him brim with confidence because he just wasnt' sure if he deserved it. He didn't agree with Britani's actions, but he still promised to take the belt home with him. He then ordered Brittani to "shove the assistance" as he wanted to be the best Jon Cross that Fuel could face and Fuel promised the same from his side. Cross finished by saying that if he won, he would shake Cross' hand in the middle of the ring and promised never to challenge Fuel for the title again.
In what seemed at first to be an unrelated series of events, UWE referee Keith came out and explained that, while he had been refereeing for the better part of a year, his dream was to be a pro wrestler in the company. This brought Kyle Everlast out and he said that he had been training with Keith and he would be proud to give Keith his first match in the company. The pair faced off in a scientific confrontation that lasted about 2 minutes until Princess Britani once again stepped forward, stopping the match. She said she had been looking for someone to blame for Cross' title loss. She certainly wasn't going to blame Cross so obviously the problem was with the referee for the match and that was Keith. At that point, Everlast blindsided Keith in an attack and then was quickly joined by Robbie Awesome and Daemon Storm. The 3-on-1 attack continued until Terry Montana ran from the back to chase off the others. He stood guard over Keith and helped him up to his feet, then wildly attacked him as well!! Brittani said that due to Keith's actions, she was going to be the special guest referee in the main event to ensure that Cross brought the title back to the Commission.
When it came time for the main event, Cross came out with the Commission behind him, but he immediately ordered them to go to the back as he wanted to do this alone. As usual in these circumstance, Brittani did her typical fast counts for her man while slowly counting for his opponent, assuming she counted at all. Fuel would always escape the fast counts and Cross seemed impressed by this. There came a point in the match where Cross was stunned in the corner and Brittani called for the Commission to return. Awesome, Storm and Justin Dynamic all entered the ring and were quickly disposed of over the top rope by Fuel. Everlast didn't get thrown over as he and Cross argued in t he ring. Everlast then turned around to attack Fuel, but Fuel met him with a Superkick, which knocked him into Brittani, propelling her off the ring apron and down onto the floor. Cross scooped Fuel up into a DVD and pinned the champion, but there was no referee to count what could easily have been a 10-count or more. Cross got up and went outside the ring, springboarding in perhaps for a clothesline, but a recovered Fuel met Cross' chin with a superkick and the challenger went down. As the Commission tended to the fallen Brittani, Keith ran into the ring and counted 3!! Fuel retained the title and Brittani was irate!
But things weren't over yet as the referee raised the hand of Fuel and tried to give him the belt, Cross snatched it away and went to the opposite corner from the champion, staring at it. He then crossed back over, placed the belt on Fuel's shoulder and told him he would be a better champion than Cross ever was. As he had promised, he extended his hand in congratulations and the former enemies showed respect as the show closed. Obviously this won't set well with Princess Brittani, as she is completely accustomed to getting what she wants. But what her plans are remain a mystery. Fuel meanwhile prepares to move on to other challengers, perhaps coming from the newly restructured Commission. But with Cross still a member, and his newfound respect for Fuel as a factor, will they be able to get to the championship they so desperately covet?
