WWE Vengeance 2011 Results: Beth Phoenix's Title Run Revitalizing Divas Division

Not long ago the WWE Divas division was dying. Kharma had arrived only to get pregnant and have to leave abruptly, which likely sent the writing team's plans into a tailspin. However, they found another dominant figure that was on the roster all along?Beth Phoenix.

And now Phoenix, along with her ?Divas of Doom? partner Natalya, are making the Divas relevant again and it's all because wrestling has become equal with looks and storyline progression.

While the matches are still short comparatively speaking, they are getting more entertaining. It was refreshing to see the WWE Divas Championship defended at a pay-per-view without a roll-up pin, interference or other shenanigans. Just a good, clean match.

Something is brewing within the division to take it up another notch, too. More variables, including the Bella Twins and Alicia Fox, are starting to work their way into the picture. And that's important.

For the past month seemingly every Divas match has been some offshoot of Phoenix and Natalya against Kelly Kelly and Eve, aside from a few squash matches to build up the champion. But between the fight featured on Vengeance and last night's RAW it is clear something bigger and more interesting is on the horizon.

It's clear that the WWE realized it was focusing too much television time on the top belts, leaving other feuds short when it came to build up. So they are working to rebuild those second-tier titles.

The Intercontinental belt went back to the white strap, the tag team titles are being held by two of the company's most popular wrestlers among the younger audience and fan favorite Zack Ryder has become involved for the United States Championship. And of course the Divas.

As important as the WWE and World Heavyweight Championships are to their respective shows, incorporating every title makes for a more complete product. There are only so many people that can take part in the main event scene at any given time.

So when too much focus is put on that aspect, several deserving workers get lost in the shuffle and become WWE Superstars fodder.

Even though it would be terrific to see Phoenix continue her run of domination until Kharma is ready to return, it's hard to imagine the WWE letting her hold the belt for so long. So a more likely scenario is having the entire Divas roster revolting against the Doom Sisters.

Whatever the storyline turns out to be, it's already become far more intriguing than anything the Divas have produced in quite some time.
