Wrestling Benefit Slated

Posted: Oct 19th 2011 By: CMBurnham

Robby (Striker) Baker, 41, lifetime resident of Krebs and Alderson, has kidney cancer. ?He had surgery on his left kidney two weeks ago,? said Pittsburg County Undersheriff Richard Bedford. ?And he has to have his right kidney removed next month.

Bedford is assisting in organizing a benefit for Baker and his family to raise money to help pay for the extensive medical bills.

?There will be a professional wrestling event on Nov. 4 at the Boys & Girls Club special event center at 1 H.B. Smith Street, at the intersection of Main and South,? Bedford said. ?The doors will open at 7 p.m. and the bell time is at 8 p.m. Also, if the weather permits, we?ll have a small car show and live band that afternoon in the parking lot.?

Organizers will also be hosting a raffle at the event. Some of the raffle items include:

? A 32 inch flat screen TV;

? A Bushnell laser rangefinder;

? Dinner for two at Pete?s Place in Krebs;

? A steak dinner at Giacomo?s

? Two free oil changes at Jim?s Tire and Break;

? A five-pound Italian sausage gift certificate from Lovera?s; and

? Much more.

Bedford organized this event with TPW (Texoma Pride Wrestling). Tickets may be purchased at the door for $8 and advanced tickets may be purchased for $6. For more information, or to purchase advance tickets, contact Rick Wall at 918-424-0049.
