News:

The Charlotte Observer has an article online about Mecklenburg District Judge Jane Harper, a top family law judge who will be retiring at the end of this month. Harper has been handling the Ric Flair divorce case (and expect a lot of news to come out of that this week as the two sides go to court), and in the article, it notes that Harper sent a letter to the divorce lawyers in the case about the extravagant spending of Flair and his wife, Beth. In a letter to the divorcing couple's lawyers, the judge called $2,000 a month on gifts "obscenely high." Citing the $300 a month spent for pets, she said those were some "very well-cared-for pets." As for the $1,500 a month for meals, Harper wrote: "Beyond my imagination for someone who has a kitchen at home." Ric Flair wasn't present at last Monday's ECW/Raw tapings in North Charleston, SC. His divorce hearings begin Tuesday in Charlotte, NC, and there are rumblings that the case will be covered by Court TV.

In a phone interview with WWE.COM, Hall Of Famer ?Rowdy? Roddy Piper said that wrestling and its fans saved his life for the second time. Piper explains that at how fifteen years of age, wrestling took him off the streets and kept him out of jail and this time around, the fans who voted for him at Cyber Sunday helped him to find cancer before it was too late. This week, the Hot Rod will begin receiving radiation for low grade lymphoma, which is considered as Hodgkin's Disease. Piper said that it will last for four weeks and upon completion he expects to receive a clean bill of health. Piper promised to walk down the RAW ramp once again after he defeats cancer.

Speaking of Piper, he and WWE RAW World Tag Team Champion Edge were featured on the Comedy Channel in Canada on a show called ?Punched Up? Wednesday night. They were helping a guy named Charlie come closer to fulfilling his dream of being a pro wrestler. Some of the local wrestlers in the area were also featured.

The script for the ECW "December to Dismember" PPV was edited by Vince and Stephanie McMahon, and rumors suggest Triple H and Michael Hayes also had a hand in on making changes.

Mick Foley was shown in a crowd shot Tuesday night on MSG in the front row at the Hofstra vs. Stony Brook basketball game.

Dave Meltzer reports that Gerald Brisco recently contacted Earl and Dave Hebner to schedule a meeting with Vince McMahon, presumably about bringing them back to the company.

Howard Stern's archive show Friday replayed a 1995 show with Lawrence Taylor and Bam Bam Bigelow before their Wrestlemania match. Stern was more into talking to Taylor about night life and women, as well as O.J. Simpson, than the match. Bigelow was treated as a nobody. He tried to act like the match was a shoot saying that if he didn't win, his career would go downhill fast. That sort of happened, but it wasn't because he didn't win, but because he was turned face and he got his legs cut off right away.

Andy Douglas of The Naturals will be a guest on Tuesday night's Trash Talking Radio show at www.trashtalkingradio.com

Afa of The Wild Samoans was present backstage at the Deep South Wrestling TV Tapings Thursday to watch his son, Afa Jr.

At Friday's Vancouver Canucks vs. Calgary Flames NHL game, they noted Calgary as the home of Stampede Wrestling, and made references to such stars as Sweet Daddy Siki and Abdullah the Butcher.
