Terry Taylor Interview Recap

Terry Taylor Interview Recap

Posted: Dec 5th 2006 By: CMBurnham

The Director Of Talent Relations for Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, Terry
Taylor, was the special guest on this past week's live edition (11/27/06) of
Monday Night Mayhem (w/The Big Mosh & Blade), which can be heard in
streaming audio every week (and live at 9PM ET/8PM CT every Monday night)
exclusively on The Monday Night Mayhem Radio Network
(www.MondayNightMayhem.com, www.ObsessedWithWrestling.com,
www.Dory-Funk.com, www.AllWNYRadio.com. & www.AudioWrestling.com - your
official home of "The Spring Break Incident" Video-On-Demand, featuring
former WWE Diva, Stacy Keibler).

The interview with Terry is now available to hear for FREE in Real Audio!

Here are some of the highlights from the interview provided by The Mayhem's
co-host, John "The Big Mosh" Masiulionis.

=============================================================

Here are some of the highlights on topics Terry covered in the interview
with Mosh & Blade:

His takes on TNA's recent show in Mexico: "A lot of encouragement &
excitement, a nice blend of AAA & TNA guys. It may be the beginning of
something good for everyone involved, with this leading to more touring
overseas."

The chances of Amy "Lita" Dumas heading to TNA: Terry posed a question to
all of the listening audience, "Who hired Amy Dumas into the WWE in 1999?"
Answer: Terry Taylor. "Amy will tell you that in private that she was
grateful for the opportunity to better her career. She is a very sweet girl,
and a really nice & genuine person. I would love to have the opportunity to
work with her again. Her & Gail Kim could put on tremendous matches for the
viewing audience, along with her & Tracy Brooks. Not to mention Christy
Hemme, who has been training to do more in-ring work."

Abyss capturing the NWA World Heavyweight Championship & the reaction to his
title win by the casual & hardcore wrestling fan: "Abyss is the best big man
in the business today -- bar none. This shows everyone in the locker room
that if they work hard, do what they are asked to do, not be selfish, that
there is a reward at the end of the day. I do not see any negatives
whatsoever in Abyss being the champ right now. He can have great matches
with anyone, whether it be AJ Styles or Sting."

Will Sting be with TNA in 2007: "Sting has made it clear that he wishes to
work a full-time schedule with the company. We are just working out the
details. Sting wants to stay. It might not be the juicy, gossipy answer that
people want to hear, but that's it. It's the truth."

How vital of a role has Kurt Angle played in TNA since his signing:
Following in the heels of Christian & Team 3-D, Kurt had a decision he had
to make. He could have chosen to stay with his previous employer, but
decided to come to TNA. "Our company is a viable alternative for those who
want to watch or participate in. Kurt saw that, and I believe that says a
lot about our locker room, our company as a whole, & our philosophy."

What did the company see in Tomko to bring him in: "Being put in a position
where he is right now, he is going to have the opportunity to show his true
colors. He's a good fit, a great guy, he's young, athletic, & wants to do
well within TNA."

"The Alpha Male" Monty Brown Leaving TNA & Signing With The WWE: "Monty
Brown was a classy guy, did everything we asked him to, he showed up
on-time, worked hurt, he exceeded on his promos, his work was getting better
all of the time, kept himself in fantastic shape, & was a loyal hard-working
guy. We wanted for him to be happy & do well wherever he was, whether it be
TNA or the WWE. He will not be a problem in their locker room, and he will
elevate others. Not everything is what it seems to be in life though --
different personalities fit in different places. Monty might love it there,
or he might regret his decision. We tried to keep him, nothing got hateful
between us & his agent, it was purely a business deal."

More goodness is included in this 40+ minute interview with Terry: including
his favorite wrestling moments & memories of the Thanksgiving holidays, the
audience of today vs. that of 10-20 years ago, his takes on those wanting to
leave the WWE & sign with TNA.
