Wrestlers "Too Cool" For Ring In Nashville

Wrestlers "Too Cool" For Ring In Nashville

Posted: Aug 8th 2011 By: CMBurnham

Some of the top wrestling stars in the world will be coming back to the Nashville Fairgrounds Sports Arena Saturday, Aug. 20, for the Tribute to the Fairgrounds 3, benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Several big-time matches will take place featuring wrestlers who are well known around the Middle Tennessee area, and some who have been a part of the top organizations in the world.

The main tag-team match features the reformation of one of the popular tag-teams in the world, ?Too Cool? featuring former WWE tag-team champions, Rikishi and Brian Christopher, who will take on the ?Diamonds in the Rough.?

?Brian is somebody I can trust and that I know will have my back if need be,? Rikishi said. ?We have magic chemistry in the ring together, Granmasta Sexay and myself. Especially when we dance at the end of our match, it?s kind of like a treat we like to give our fans that support us.?

One of the other key matches that night will be a cage match between Murfreesboro native and wrestling legend ?Dirty? Dutch Mantell against a guy that he has faced and teamed with on several occasions, ?Superstar? Bill Dundee. This time, the feud between the two will be settled inside a cage.

?Once they slam the door, nobody will be getting out,? Mantell said.

Their latest feud started back in January, when Mantell was the special guest referee in match between Dundee and WWE Hall of Famer Jerry ?The King? Lawler.

Lawler came out on top that night, and ever since then, Dundee blamed Mantell?s poor officiating that night for losing the match.

?He blamed me for losing the match,? Mantell said. ?He was bad-mouthing me. This will probably the last time you will see us face each other. The cage will decide who the better man is. We will settle this once and for all on the 20th.?

Back a few years ago, PG-13, comprised of Wolfie D and Jamie Dundee, was one of the top tag-teams in the area.

However, the pair had a falling out and will be on opposite sides of the ring Aug. 20.

?Jamie and I had a huge difference in opinion about some behind the scene issues,? Wolfie D said. ?We haven?t spoken in quite some time. We were a lot fans? favorite but the past is just that, the past.?

Wolfie D added Dundee was the one who wanted this match.

?I never asked for it. He requested it from management and is saying he has some unfinished business to take care of.?

Fellow Murfreesboro native Jerry Lynn will take on Kid Kash. These two have a history with one another in the ring.

Lynn also wrestled in the last Tribune to the Fairgrounds show and has also wrestled in some other high-profile matches since returning from a back injury.

Former WWE diva and ?Celebrity Apprentice? star, Maria Kanellis will also make a special appearance during the event.

?My role is to show my support for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. That is my charity that I support and I am honored to be doing two things that I love the most is support the great charity and being a part of a great wrestling event,? she said.

The day before the show, a press conference will take place at the Sports Arena in Nashville discussing the following evening?s show and upcoming announcements by Crossfire Entertainment.

The press conference is free and open to the public.
