News:

Dusty Rhodes was backstage at the Maryland Championship Wrestling show in Hampstead, MD on Saturday, November 11, but could not appear in front of the crowd, and missed the fanfest, saying that he was told by WWE he could not appear in public.

Straight Shootin? with Bruno Sammartino is now available at ROHwrestling.com. The interview is conducted by none other then Jim Cornette.

There?s a slightly changed version of the story behind Sting?s facepaint issue from ?Bound For Glory? PPV circulating. Now, Sting claims he didn?t actually forget the facepaint, he just brought the wrong colour.

Jerry Lawler?s mother Hazel recently made it through dangerous surgery to open her carotid artery after suffering a stroke.

Pro Wrestling Insider reported that Roddy Piper is suffering from some type of intestinal/bowel problem, thus the reason WWE switched the tag team titles on Raw Monday night. Piper had to return to the U.S. to receive medical attention. Piper ended up being hospitalized in Oregon for surgery after being sent home from WWE?s tour of the United Kingdom. Piper?s original diagnosis was kidney stones, however, sources close to the situation say the former World Tag Team Champion?s surgery may be a result of disc problems. Due to Piper's injury, he will not participate at Survivor Series. Ric Flair's team will now include a Legend to be named.

Speaking of Piper, Circuit City will be selling a special 4-Disc version of his ?Born to Controversy? DVD.

Dave Meltzer is reporting that despite not having a long term agreement worked out, Jim Ross and WWE are still negotiating a new deal. Ross? webmaster denied the lack of a contract on his site.

WWE Media has announced next year?s DVD release schedule. They include: January: ECW Extreme Rules (which will include the Rob Van Dam/Hardcore Holly Match from the ECW show in Tulsa); March: Royal Rumble: The Complete Anthology (featuring many former Oklahoma stars in this one-of-a-kind match); April: Ric Flair & the Four Horsemen; September: The Triumph & Tragedy of World Class Championship Wrestling

The cover of the WWE's new AWA DVD does not have Bruiser, Crusher or Verne Gagne on it. Instead, it has Ric Flair, Sgt. Slaughter, Jerry Lawler, The Rockers, Hulk Hogan, Bobby Heenan, Curt Hennig and Gene Okerlund

Mid-States Wrestling is about to release a new DVD entitled "The Path To Barbed Wire". The DVD will include the historic culmination of an 8 year feud between Jason Jones and Kevin Lovejones. Footage included Jones vs. Jim Fallon with a post-match interview that features Jones being interviewed by Mike Iles. Jones was attacked by Lovejones at the conclusion of the interview. The contract signing is also included plus the all-important Barbed Wire Match itself. Bonus features includes backstage pre-match and post-match footage, both men receiving medical attention from EMTs, the commercial that ran advertising the match, a post-concussion moment with Jones, a moment of clarity in the shower with Lovejones, plus tons of extras featuring Jones, Michael Barry, Mitch Carter, Sassy Merlot, and many others. The DVD can be pre-ordered at www.midstateswrestling.com or can be purchased in select retailers in Arkansas beginning December 1st.

Steve Williams? book, ?How Dr. Death Became Dr. Life?, should be available in February or March of next year, but you can pre-order it at Amazon.com right now.

Finally, our sympathy goes out to Tiger Conway, Jr. on the death of his father, Tiger Conway, Sr., who passed away Tuesday after suffering a stroke in Houston, TX.
