Factions Fight For Supremacy On ComPro Battleground
Posted: Mar 17th 2011 By: CMBurnham
The managerial genius of Stevie Caballero has allowed him to take 3 young stars and mold them into an effective group known as the New Era 2nd. Slowly working their way up the ladder in ComPro, they ran into something of a road bump over the past two shows by having some conflict with another young group of up-and-coming stars, the Clockwork Clique.
Drake Gallows joined The Stars of Chaos to make an impact in ComPro and immediately had some issues with the New Era 2nd when he eliminated Chris Morrison from the Gauntlet For the Gold, where the winner would receive a contract good for any title at any time. Gallows was then eliminated by Steven Sterling, who in turn was taken out by Richie Adams. Caballero's opportunity to earn a title shot for his group was short lived, however, as The Canadian Red Devil eliminated Adams and also took out Sam Stackhouse. Stackhouse appeared to be the last man in the Gauntlet, but the late arrival of Brandon Walker forced one more match from the Devil and it was a match he couldn't win. Walker connected with the Defamation of Character and took the contract for himself.
The Stars of Chaos were busy that night dealing with X-Rated and Gallows was right by their side. But the next week, a 6-man tag team match was signed with both groups facing each other. Though young, Gallows had been competing for a couple of years and The Stars of Chaos are well versed in tag team wrestling. They had no one outside the ring on their side, though. And they didn't really need anyone either as nothing the New Era 2nd did was able to overcome the teamwork and precision that the Clockwork Clique maintained. Stackhouse eventually grew frustrated, grabbing a chair and slamming it into Drake Gallows, earning a DQ. That didn't stop him and he annhilated Bobby Star as well before the Canadian Red Devil arrived on the scene. Though there was no formal agreement between the stars, it was obvious that the Devil saw major wrongs occurring and wanted to do something about it. And he would have his chance at the next show.
The Clockwork Clique his title ring with chairs, knowing they could not take the chance that the other their oppoents should catch them slipping. And now that the Clique had the Canadian Red Devil in their corner to counter Stevie Caballero, it would all come down to the abilities of the stars in the ring. Despite the equalisation on the outside, the ruthlessness of Richie Adams pulled a victory for Caballero's cadre out to even the score between the two factions. But that wasn't enough as the New Era then attempted to send a message to the rest of the locker room by brutally attacking Gallows, Star & Choas after the match. Even the Devil was worked into the attack and when referee Chance Snodgrass tried to get them to stop, Caballero reminded him that the match was over and he had no authourity at that point.
The Clique was left in a pile of bodies and Bobby Star was dumped on the outside of the ring, but the important thing is that the Clilque left the ring area after the beatdown on their own power. Perhaps something along the lines of an Elimination match might better resolve the issues between these two groups. Until that resolution comes, both sides certainly seem willing and able to put the other out of commission.
