Who Will Be The First To Break White's Streak?

Who Will Be The First To Break White's Streak?

Posted: Dec 5th 2010 By: CMBurnham

Recently completing his first year of professional competition, Jesse White has quietly put together an unbeaten streak in the state of Oklahoma. With over 20 matches this year, no one has yet to be able to put White's shoulders to the mat, although many have made valiant attempts.

Earlier this year, NWA-OK Texoma Champion Dane Griffin provided White with some of his stiffest challenges in both MSWA & IZW. Griffin faced White on two occassions, losing singles matches in both federations. White also tagged with MSWA owner Bad Boy to defeat Griffin & current IZW Tag Team & MSWA Oklahoma Champion Xavior. White even re-teamed with his father, Big Van Vader, as well as Bad Boy to take down Griffin, Xavior & Shane Rawls on one occassion. Griffin seemed to get the hint and left the territories, but upon making his return to IZW a few weeks ago, Griffin was once again put in competition against White. This time White won by DQ, but a win is still a win on his record.

In an interesting twist, one of White's more recent repeating opponents is Dustin Daniels. Though both men are crowd favourites, they've faced each other 4 times since September, once in MSWA and the other 3 in IZW. All 4 were victories for White, with the most recent coming as Daniels leapfrogged one of White's spear finishers to avoid it, but couldn't avoid a second. There were no apparant hard feelings between the men and both men have tagged together on two occasions, once in MSWA defeating Bernie D & current IZW Champion Jermaine Johnson, the other in IZW defeating Johnson & Aaron Neil.

But in one of MSWA's most intriguing developing feuds, 2nd-generation star White has been facing off against 3rd-generation superstar and UWE & MERC Tag Team Champion Max McGuirk. Their first confrontation saw McGuirk's valet Katy attempt to interfere by hopping up on the ring apron and chopping White across the back. As White turned to confront her, Max sized White up and began to charge towards him, but White side-stepped and Max could not help but collide with Katy, knocking her off the apron. White then connected with a spear and put McGuirk away.

McGuirk returned two weeks later, forsaking Katy for a steel chair. Having faced him in the ring before, McGuirk was prepared for the spear finisher and when White went for it, McGuirk yanked referee Mark Wilson in front. While the referee was out, McGuirk hit a Falcon's Arrow slam followed by a 450 Splash on White. McGuirk clearly had White covered, but no referee was available to make the count. McGuirk even counted two on his own pin before relenquishing it and going to revive Wilson. Slowly, Wilson flopped over to the pin attempt, but couldn't count fast enough to get past 2. McGuirk then left the ring to grab the steel chair he had brought with him and brought it back into the ring to hit White with. Wilson intercepted this and a brief tug-of-war occurred before McGuirk clipped Wilson with the chair, resulting in an immediate DQ. White didn't care about winning that way, hitting McGuirk with the spear immediately after the bell rang to prove that he had McGuirk's number at any moment.

White holds singles victories over several current champions, including MSWA Oklahoma Champion Xavior, IZW Impact Division Champion Wage and two victories over IZW Champion Jermaine Johnson. He was supposed to receive an IZW Title shot against Aaron Neil, but someone engineered a backstage attack on him, preventing him from receiving that opportunities. But the undefeated streak is undeniable and the only remote blemish on his record is a No-Contest decision in a match where he teamed with Shawn Mills & current IZW Tag Team Champion Kevin Morgan against the forces of Impact, Inc. White seems content at this time to prove his superiority to every opponent in the ring, but it seems quite likely there will come a time where White will want to have more than just a long string of wins.
