Today is a significant day. I suppose. A lot is on the line. So you hear. I remember a few years ago I used to think so. I want to remind you that it is not so significant that it has anything at all to do with the attitude you can choose to have each and every day of your life. Read Victor Frankl?s book, Man?s Search for Meaning, to have this idea knocked into your head.

I used to voice my opinion on politics quite a bit. If you?ve been coming around awhile, you know this. If you haven?t, you wouldn?t because I don?t say much about those things anymore. I still pay some attention, but after my conservative activism involvement a few years back, I came to realize paying too much attention and opining only irritated me and disrupted my generally positive attitude about life. I have my life and it is made up of time and I don?t want to waste any of it on things that are, for the most part, as a single individual and family man concerned about making things in his life work each day, out of my control. I?ve no desire to be a politician or a political pundit. You have to be a liar, a fraud, a hypocrite, and an enabler of ignorance, stupidity, dependence and injustice. And I just have to accept the fact that I am not cut out to be those.

I will tell you, since a lot of people write and ask, I think Obama has been the best thing that could have happened to this country at these times in our history. His Presidency ? the worst and most anti-American by any and all measures ? has woken a lot of people up and I no longer believe this country will ever go totally to hell-in-a-handbasket. I really do believe this country is always going to be all right and find its way back to its originating ideas.

The Founders were brilliant, mostly because they read and studied and understood history. They saw the potential pitfalls and were smart enough to put checks and balances in place so that The People could reset the country?s compass if and when it strayed too far off course. This is going to happen today. And those who are being given a second chance better never again forget the scolding The People are handing down now or they will be the first slaughtered in a certain revolution in the very near future.

It?s really amazing to me, as I am sure it is for so many of you, just how demonized real american patriots ? decent, responsible and caring human beings ? are and how unfathomably blind and egregiously dug in our arrogant government leaders are. The overt dismissal of reality all around is something I just can?t stomach any more, from all sides and all forums.

If you will go back and read the writings of the Founding times there is also something else you will get from reading between the lines. You ? the person, the individual ? are endowed with the intelligence to always outsmart the government and whatever restrictions it tries to enforce on your freedoms ? your life, your liberty, your pursuit of happiness.

Read and reread the Founding writings and think about it. If you do, you?ll figure it out.

And the greatest and most powerful way to outsmart the government (or anyone else for that matter) is never surrender the freedom you have to choose your attitude about things. Let them make hell on earth. But never let them fuck with your peace of mind. When all else is ugly, you can always find beauty there.
