Big Money Pays Off For Trio Of Crowd Favourites

Big Money Pays Off For Trio Of Crowd Favourites

Posted: Sep 16th 2010 By: CMBurnham

Everyone needs some backup sometimes. How you go about acquiring that backup often determines whether you're considered reputable or underhanded. Some people choose to buy their defence. Others rely on their friendships and hope that that bond will pay off in the important ways.

NCW is new enough of a federation that many of the stars are still trying to figure out what their position in the company is. But one man has already secured gold for himself in the first show. J. R.Orullian managed to pull out a win in the very first match in NCW history, defeating Mr. Big and becoming the first NCW North American Champion. A good beginning for the popular star known as the "Iron Man", but things would take an interesting twist the next month.

This past Saturday, Orullian and Mr. Big once again found themselves on opposite sides of the ring. But this time, the stakes were a little higher as Orullian put his North American Title up against Mr.Big's HWA Suicide Title. Orullian is a big man, topping the scales at over 300 lbs. But he was certainly the smaller competitor against the near-500 pound Mr. Big. Orullian couldn't figure out how to muscle his competitor around and at one point, had him on prone on his back, but couldn't pull him away from the ropes. Orullian was able to kick Big's body outside to the floor, then followed him out, spanking him several times before continuing the beating. But neither man paid close attention to the referee and both failed to return to the ring before the count of 10. The result was a double countout, but the action was far from over.

At that point, the Death Dealers, who had been sitting at ringside since reforming after their Triple Threat Match, hit the ring and commenced a beat down on Mr. Big. Orullian, who had made his way to the back, came running back out, chasing off the evil trio. Orullian said that the Death Dealers had come to NCW with "XMW-sized egos". He turned to Mr. Big and proposed forming a tag team called Big Money, Inc. to combat this threesome. And Big was certainly open to the idea.

But also thrown into this equation was the return to Oklahoma wrestling of Rob Allen. Allen, a manager who had been associated with Generation X in OPW 12 years before, made his return to wrestling, looking for top level talent to guide. And he believed he'd found it in the tag team of Black Lightning and Dennis Williams. That didn't pan out so well in their NCW Tag Team Championship challenge against The Unknown & Yoshi, who went on to become the 1st Tag Team Champions. Allen had appeared as the confrontation between BMI and The Death Dealers began to ignite and quickly tried to take control of the situation, saying that the Death Dealers wouldn't be facing Big Money, Inc. unless the proper amount of money was on the table. This was no problem for Mr. Big, who is independently wealthy and offered up $1 000 000. Allen countered by saying that if his guys were beaten, BMI would get 5 minutes with Allen alone.

That match was set for the next NCW event in Siloam Springs, but the night wasn't over for BMI or Rob Allen. Allen seconded Michael H in his challenge against Ryan Reed to determine the first NCW Champion. Johnny Humphrey, who'd had an issue with Michael H earlier in the show, was the special guest referee and the Death Dealers remained at ringside. But Reed had assistance in the form of NCW Tag Team Champion The Unknown, The New Age Cowboy and John Justice to counter, turning the match into an unofficial lumberjack match. Reed and H had several confrontations towards the end of 412PE and that familiarity contributed to this contest as well, which ended when Reed abruptly caught H in a powerslam for the win. At that point, everyone piled into the ring and began beating on the nearest person they could find. Eventually, Rob Allen slithered into the ring and punched Reed, but by that point, the Death Dealers had been scattered and Allen was all alone in the ring with Reed and the newly-arrived J. R. Orullian. Orullian held Allen while Mr. Big hit him with a haymaker, knocking him out of the ring. Big and Orullian then offered membership to Reed, bringing the NCW Title under their control as well. They also said that since the Death Dealers had Allen as their manager, they needed a manager as well and pointed to NCW commissioner Mo Cruise.

The sides now appear even and it seems the next big confrontation in this war will take place at the end of the month in Siloam Springs, AR. It will be interesting to see what after-effects will be noticed when NCW returns to Marble City on October 9.
