September Slam Promises Exciting Action For All Involved

September Slam Promises Exciting Action For All Involved

Posted: Sep 8th 2010 By: CMBurnham

IZW's September tradition, September Slam, is September 11 and the action action heated up this past Saturday in preparation. Several key matches have been signed and the participants used this show as their last opportunity to show what they were capable of and what fans could expect one week later.

IZW Tag Team Champions the Future Hall of Famers will defend their titles in a 4-Corners Elimination Match against Aerial Assault, Arrogant Money and Awesome X. As a preview for this match, one member from each team was selected to face off in a Fatal 4-Way match. Shane Rawls was thrown to the outside and Eric Rose jumped over the top rope, catching him with a plancha and knocking both men out of competition. This left Xavior and Austin Tacious in the ring and Xavior connected with a Flatliner for the victory. In the next match, Xavior's tag team partner, MSWA Oklahoma Champion Kevin Morgan, reversed out of the Energy Shot and powerslammed Jermaine Johnson. Two singles victories by the members of Awesome X certainly seems to give them the momentum heading into the tag team title match, but it's not easy to discount the 2-time former IZW Tag Team Champions Arrogant Money, who would love to three-peat, or current champions the Future Hall of Famers, who have held those belts for 5 months now. And the team that it seems no one is giving a strong chance to is Aerial Assault, who could be the underdog and walk away with championship gold, something another version of Aerial Assault has already done.

Anti-American activist Jordan Jacobs confronted the man who has stood up to his dispicable actions, Top Sgt. Jerome Bell. Bell accompanied IZW Co-Commissioner Sam Helton to the ring and said that 3 weeks ago, a "1/2 man, 1/2 weasel" interrupted his singing of the national anthem. He admitted that he did the wrong thing by putting his hands on Jacobs, but he hoped the crowd understood why he did it. He called for Jacobs to come out and he did, accompanied by the other Co-Commissioner Steve O. Steve O asked why Helton thought he could just bring someone off the streets into the ring and Jacobs again asserted the idea that this was his place, complaining that even though he had a restraining order, Bell still found a way in through the backdoor. Bell then surprised Jacobs by saying that he had gone and gotten his wrestling license and he challenged Jacobs to a match at September Slam. Jacobs demanded that if he were to win the match, Bell had to pledge alliegance to him and Bell countered that by saying that if he won the match, Jacobs had to salute the flag and say the pledge in the middle of the ring in front of the crowd. This issue will finally be brought to an end at September Slam as one of the two combatants will be forced to humble themselves at the Impact Arena.

The main event for September Slam had been known for several weeks. Johnny Z & IZW Champion Aaron Neil were to take on IZW Impact Division Champion Bernie D & TNA star Al Snow. Sam Helton upped the stakes on this one by saying that if Bernie D won, he would receive a shot at the IZW Title. That announcement brought Johnny Z & Steve O out to protest it. Johnny demanded to know what Bernie did to ever deserve a title shot. Bernie reminded Johnny that 2 weeks ago, he pinned Aaron during their tag team match. Bernie said that never happened and promised that next week he would prove how undeserving Bernie was. Bernie said that if he was so undeserving, then Johnny would have no problem coming to the ring and facing him . Helton made that official and despite Johnny trying to stall and retreat, Bernie managed to get him in the ring and the match was on. Bernie fought a strong bout, eventually connecting with the Sky-High and going for the pin. Referee Mark Wilson counted one...and then the lights went out in the arena. When they came back up, Aaron Neil had Bernie hoisted on his shoulders and delivered a powerful Death Valley Driver. A brief 2-on-1 attack followed until Montego Seeka arrived to save Bernie. Mark Wilson declared the match a No-Contest and Helton made a tag team match for the main event that evening.

The main event was a long match that saw Impact, Inc. isolate Montego and work him over until, after almost 15 minutes, he finally got to his corner to tag Bernie. Bernie cleared house inside the ring, but Jermaine Johnson (who had been shown in a backstage video to be leaving the arena) ran down the ramp and yanked Montego off the apron. The former BLK-OUT members will be facing each other in a Grudge match and they battled their way up the ramp to the back. Bernie again hit the Sky-High on Johnny, but Aaron connected with an Elbow drop on Bernie, then shoved referee Mark Wilson when Wilson tried to remove him from the ring. That brought a DQ to Impact, Inc., but they didn't seem to care and continued the 2-on-1 beating. Johnny held Bernie up so Aaron could hit a Big Boot in his face and the Impact Division Champion was down. But then, Double D's music hit and Erica came out on the ramp. Johnny & Aaron both stared at her, wondering why she was there, but the question didn't last too long as Double D arrived through the side door and came in the ring behind Impact, Inc. He dumped Aaron over the top rope, then Thesz-pressed Johnny and proceded to deliver revenge for the beating that caused him to be taken from the arena 2 weeks before in an ambulance. With Johnny scurrying for his life, he & Aaron were met by Sam Helton who announced that Double D would be the special Guest Referee for the main event at September Slam. Johnny & Aaron were livid and proceded to destroy the ringside area, upending the bell table and overturning the mats before leaving to try and prepare for what faces them on September 11.

All those matches will take place this Saturday. And more action is sure to be on the card. Ringside tickets have already sold out, but general admission is still available. Be sure to come see the most exciting card IZW has produced in several months. Who will be the tag team champions? Will Jordan Jacobs have to salute the flag he claims to hate? Does Impact, Inc. have a trick up their sleeves to counter Double D as the referee in their match? Be at September Slam to find out!
