Rookies' Feud Catches Fire In Tulsa Feds

Rookies' Feud Catches Fire In Tulsa Feds

Posted: Aug 25th 2010 By: CMBurnham

A new crop of rookie wrestler sprung on the scene this summer as both AWF and MSPW began running shows in the same location and using much of the same talent. Some of that rookie crop has risen to the top of those feds and already find themselves in conflict with each other.

Standing out from this crowd of newcomers are Kyle Everlast and AWF Champion Justin Sane. Although they've only competed on 3 sanctioned shows in Oklahoma, they've quickly developed a great distaste for each other and feel a need to determine who is the superior athlete.

This competitiveness comes naturally as Kyle was the man that Justin defeated to become the inaugural Heavyweight Champion for the Alliance Wrestling Federation. Obviously Kyle would like to blame anyone but himself for that. At the time, he blamed Black Jack, which encouraged him to revert to his better known persona of Spyke. Now Everlast has to look in other directions for a fall guy.

Both Justin and Kyle were without wins at the last MSPW event in Tulsa. Kyle competed against Al Carter and lost to a surprise rollup. Carter attempted to show good sportsmanship and extended his hand after the match for a handshake, but Kyle grabbed it and brought Carter in for a stunner, then left the ring.

Justin competed twice on the July event. He lost his first match to J. B. Varsity, thanks in part to a distraction by Jake O'Brien & Maggie Rae. After the referee was knocked out accidentally, O'Brien entered the ring and gave Sane a DDT. Varsity then covered the prone Sane while O'Brien revived the ref to count to 3. An irate Sane stormed backstage and demanded a match against O'Brien later on the card and that was granted to him, but the outcome wasn't any better. Even though the referee ejected Maggie Rae from the ringside area, O'Brien still pulled out the win and even delivered a Shining Wizard after the match to drive home his victory.

So both men arrived this past Tuesday with a lot of prove, but ironically, they weren't supposed to face each other until J. B. Varsity once again got involved. Varsity faced veteran journeyman Trey Christian and defeated him with a schoolboy (and some help from the feet on the ropes). Christian got a little bit of immediate revenge by attacking Varsity after the match and giving him a swinging neckbreaker slam. But Varsity recovered from that and grabbbed the microphone to address the crowd. He began to run down the crowd and proclaimed himself a future champion, but came up a little short when Justin Sane arrived in the ring with him. Justin hadn't forgotten the result of last month's match and wanted another chance to prove himself to the crowd. He challenged Varsity to a match. As Varsity was arguing and trying to get out of that match, Everlast ran into the ring with a steel chair and hit Sane in the back. Varsity celebrated Everlast's arrival...until Everlast also clobbered Varsity with the chair!! Everlast said that if anyone was going to have a match with Sane, it was going to be him. And after he and Varsity left and Sane had recovered from the vicious chair shot,. he accepted and the main event was set.

As the matches progressed, the anticipation built towards this confrontation between two up-and-coming studs in Oklahoma wrestling. And when the main event arrived, they lit into each other, holding nothing back. Sane relied on his size and power while Everlast turned to the cheap tactics to try and gain a win. While it worked for a while, Everlast wasn't able to keep Sane down and found himself in a bad postition, prone for a pin by Sane. Surprisingly, J. B. Varsity one again appeared, bringing the ever popular steel chair with him. And when he got in the ring, he hit Everlast with it. Sane quickly went to cover Kyle, but the referee signalled for the bell, having seen the interference and called for a DQ. Everlast would go down as the winner in the match, sending Justin's MSPW record to 0-3. Everlast and Varsity left the ring area, smiles on their faces and proud of the fast one they had pulled on Justin Sane.

All 3 men are scheduled for competition at the AWF event this Saturday, although it's unknown if they are set to face each other in any of the matches. Additionally, Sane and Everlast are both members of the Commission Security in UWE, although if they are unable to work together, that might be more of a hamperance to UWE Champion Jon Cross and his group than an assistance.
