Little Guys Cause Big Problems For Impact, Inc.

Little Guys Cause Big Problems For Impact, Inc.

Posted: Jul 18th 2010 By: CMBurnham

One of the more unique issues with Impact, Inc. since their return to MSWA has been the secuirty squad they bring with them. The membership has varied, but the sheer numbers advantage they provide has been part of the secret to their success.

That success has given some of the security members some big heads, especially one Jordan Jacobs. Jacobs has only had a couple of professional matches, but by surrounding himself with the big dogs, the diminutive individual has as much bite as the rest of the pack. Never fearful to get in the fans' faces or to mouth off a barb to someone at ringside, Jacobs' attitude spilled way over normal this past Sunday. And the results might give him cause to think again before speaking his mind.

The situation began when Impact, Inc. came to the ring in preparation for MSWA Mid-South Champion Johnny Z's title defence against Ky-ote Joe. As is often the case before their matches, many of the members had things to say. And in this instance, they were all about how Johnny was the saviour of professional wrestling. In stark contrast to the ensemble that surrounded the champion, Joe came to the ring alone with only the fans to help him out. Joe gave everything he had to the champion and things looked like they might be going his way which prompted Impact, Inc. to enter the ring earning Joe a win by DQ, but preserving the belt for Johnny.

A vicious beatdown of Joe began, which brought Dustin Daniels out to help. It was a good gesture, but neither of these men had the power or size to compete with the gang tactics of Johnny's group. But then, the familiar music of Aaron Neil hit and "The Real Deal" dashed to the ring. All the other members scooted outside except for Jordan, who was picked up and thrown onto the rest of Impact, Inc. Neil took the microphone and said that Johnny had something that belonged to him. He promised to eventually take that title back. And at that point, Jordan decided he must feel froggy, so he grabbed the microphone and told everyone that he was tired of being disrespected by everyone like this. On behalf of Impact, Inc., he proposed a 3-on-3 match as the main event of the evening. Neil accepted and everything was set.

The 6-man match did not disappoint. As could probably be expected, things broke down pretty quickly and scattered everywhere. Johnny threw Aaron into one of the corner posts, rendering him unhelpful. Ky-ote Joe countered by crotching Bernie D, then throwing him from the ring and pursuing the make sure that he didn't cause anymore problems. This left Dustin Daniels and Jermaine Johnson in the ring. Johnson had defeated Daniels two weeks before and Daniels was hoping to avenge that loss, but Johnson was prepared and hit Daniels with a foreign object, knocking him out and collecting a cheap victory for the group. Impact, Inc. stood victorious in the ring, reaping the boos from the crowd. All the while, the opposing team had brought themselves back together and reentered the ring behind Impact, Inc.'s back. Johnson, Bernie & Johnny turned around and were met with three reverse atomic drops, then 3 discus punches eliminating them from the ring. And once again, Jordan felt it was his place to step up and complain about the treatment his group was getting.

Jordan was highly condescending as he talked down to each member of the Aaron's team, explaining how they were all disrespectful, stupid and could never hope to be as great as Impact, Inc. was. But while Jordan was running his mouth, NWA-OK Oklahoma Women's Champion La Reina de Corazones snuck up on the ring apron and pushed Jordan over the top rope into the ring. All the bravado that Jordan had displayed before quickly flowed away as he realised he was in hostile territory and could do nothing about it. He tried to beg off, but it was no good as he was about to be the target of all the pent-up frustration from the opposing side.

Aaron Neil struck first, delivering a series of paint-brush slaps to Jordan, then backing him into a corner and delivering a thunderous chop. Joe & Dustin both got opportunities to chop Jordan's chest as well and then Aaron turned Jordan around and gave him a wedgie! Not satisfied with that, Aaron picked Jordan up and delivered a Real Drill. This laid him in the ring so that Ky-ote Joe could hit a Frog Splash on him. Impact, Inc., who had watched on incredulously, tried to resuce their abused comrade, but were beaten back, much to the fans' delight, as the punishment continued. Dustin Daniels climbed to the top rope and connected with an elbow drop and then, in the culminating moment of his humiliation, La Reina put her foot on Jordan's prone body and Aaron Neil counted three.

Johnny Z, directing traffic from the outside, was able to maneuvre the rescue of Jordan at this point, but it resulted in his own sacrifice as he was pulled into the ring by Aaron Neil. Neil finally seemed to have a chance at putting his hands on Johnny, something he'd been unable to do since masquerading as the Midnite Rider a couple of months before. He Irish-whipped Johnny into the far side of the ring, but Johnny held onto the ropes for dear life and slithered out of the ring to rejoin his retreating comrades.

Although the target wasn't the one he wanted, Aaron Neil sent a clear message that he is prepared to take back the MSWA Title. He just needs an opportunity. And Jordan Jacobs learned the lesson of a lifetime: If you're going to run your mouth like a big dog, be prepared to back the smack. Jacobs couldn't do that. And one has to wonder how much longer Johnny Z can continue to be lucky.
