2 Cents Worth: Oklahoma Boxing Commission Takes No Crap From Owner Of TAP

Tornado Alley Pro wrestling returned to the Wagoner Civic Center again for another great show. The show began with ?Mr. Endurance? Sugar Shane Morbid, the #1 contender to the TAP heavyweight title, coming out to tell the crowd that he didn?t want his title shot at the July show, as scheduled. He wanted the title shot that night. This prompted the Saints of Twilight (Ignition & Reckless) to come to the ring, and Reckless informed Morbid that he was supposed to wrestle the Canadian Red Devil. After bantering, it was agreed that the main event would now be a triple-threat elimination match between Morbid, CRD, and TAP heavyweight champion, Reckless.

Angel Skycall v. Canadian Luchadore

Shortly after the match began, the Canadian Luchadore had a mask malfunction, as the mask got turned around a ? of a turn, making it hard for the masked man to see. Shane Morbid?s former manager emerged from the back and watched the match from the announcer?s table. This was a different Canadian Luchadore than we?ve seen recently. He left the ring and asked for a time-out. When referee Mark Wilson would not grant him the time-out, Luchadore returned to the ring and began to use some dirty tactics that he had not been using in previous months. Once Skycall was able to mount a comeback, Luchadore, again, exited the ring and, this time, and took a seat in one of the chairs holding the ringside rope. Once Luchadore was back in the ring, Skycall began to beat on him even more and nearly got the pin, but the crafty Luchadore was able to get his foot on the rope. The Luchadore was then able to make a comeback and got the pin, but he put his feet on the ropes for added leverage.

After the match, Angel Skycall told the Luchadore that he shouldn?t be coming to America and getting cheap pins like that. Then, he challenged Luchadore to a flag match at the July 17 show for which the Canadian Luchadore accepted.

WINNER: Canadian Luchadore

Maniac Mike v. Steven Sterling

Sterling began the match with some good technical wrestling. However, Maniac Mike got the upper hand, and he began using a more brutal, hardcore style of wrestling. Despite the style employed by Maniac Mike, Sterling was able to bounce back quickly, and he once again returned to the technical wrestling that he had begun the match with. Once Maniac Mike was back in control, he got Sterling in the tree of woe and began to stomp him in the gut repeatedly. He then went to the outside of the ring, where he wrenched on the neck of his opponent. After getting back in the ring, Maniac Mike kick Sterling out of the tree of woe position and quickly went for the pin, but was able to only get a two count. He, then, turned his attention to referee Mark Wilson and criticized him for what he thought was a slow count. This allowed Sterling to regain his senses, and he was on the offensive again for a short time. Maniac Mike quickly had Sterling down again, but Sterling, using his veteran savvy, rolled Maniac Mike in a small package and got the victory.

Michael York (w/Saints of Twilight) v. Pennywise

In keeping with the spirit of being one of the oddest wrestlers on the TAP roster, Pennywise came to the ring on a child?s toy. He had almost made his way around the ring, when York exited the ring and began to attack him with the kendo stick. Then, Ignition held a chair over the throat of Pennywise, and York hit the chair twice with a kendo stick. The crowd was expecting a disqualification, but color-commentator made the announcement that this was a no-DQ match. York then rolled Pennywise back into the ring and hit him with the York Street Slam. It was all academic after that, as York easily got the pin. York then put the York Street Slam to work on referee Mark Wilson. Then, the chair was brought into the ring, and Pennywise received another York Street Slam on the chair. Afterward, Burnham announced that he had been given the notice by the Oklahoma Boxing Commission that Michael York is suspended indefinitely due to his attack on referee, Mark Wilson.

X-Rated (Bobby Star & Kevin James Sanchez) v. Bleach, Ink (Draven Cross & ?Mr. Excitement? Korvin Sage)

X-Rated is a pretty well-known tag team in the ranks of TAP. However, their opponents, Bleach, Ink, were a new tag-team, and they were looking to dominate the team of Star & Sanchez. Star & Sage began the match with some quick technical wrestling moves. Then, Star made the first mistake of the match when he went for a spinning heel kick, which was countered by a kick by Sage. After a short-lived attack on Star, Sage was finally on the receiving end of Star?s spinning heel kick. However, Star was unable to capitalize on the move, which allowed Sage to continue the beating and land an impressive standing moonsault. Sage then tagged in his powerful partner, Draven Cross. After working the arm and then using his mass to stand on Star, he landed an enormous vertical suplex that made Star hit the mat so hard that it knocked Sanchez off the ring apron. Cross then tagged Sage back in, which gave Star the opportunity to roll outside the ring. Sanchez went over to check on his partner, but the duo was quickly taken down by Sage, as he hit them with an over-the-top rope corkscrew plancha. Star eventually got back in the ring, but was met with another flipping plancha. Sage once again tagged Cross, who hit Star with several enormous power moves before tagging Sage back into the match. Sage hit Star with a flying elbow and a dropkick that hit Star right in the face. Then, on instinct, Star was able to hit Sage with a huge DDT, and he was finally able to tag Sanchez, who came in and immediately kicked Sage in the head. Sage reversed an Irish whip into the corner by doing a back flip over Sanchez, but he was caught with a super kick for his efforts. Sage tried to mount a comeback with a kick on Sanchez, but Sanchez quickly caught him with a pounding spine buster. Each man was, then, able to make a tag to their respective partners. Cross began using power moves on Star again, but Star was able to mount a quick comeback before he was on the receiving end of a huge DDT, courtesy of Cross. Star was able to recover, and he was able to kick Cross to the outside of the ring. Star then hit a cross body block on Cross to the outside of the ring. Sage came over to help his partner, giving Sanchez the opportunity to climb the top rope and hit all three men with another cross body block. Before the ten count, Cross was able to climb back into the ring. He then got on the ring apron and done a flying double-clothesline onto the Star and Sanchez. None of the four men could answer the ten-count by referee Chance Snodgrass, so the ruling was a double-countout.

REFEREE?S DECISION: Double Countout

Ignition (w/Reckless & Michael York) v. ?Broken Arrow Bad Boy? Justin Lee

Lee came into the match like a whirlwind and immediately went to work on the arm of Ignition. He then sent Ignition into the corner and monkey-flipped him out of the corner, which made Ignition exit the ring quickly to regroup. Ignition came back into the ring, and the quick rest is what he needed, as he was able to gain control of the match. York then distracted the referee, which allowed Reckless to interfere in the match. York then had to leave ringside, as he was reminded of his suspension by the Oklahoma Boxing Commission. This allowed Lee to regain control as Ignition charged Lee in the corner, but the Broken Arrow Bad Boy caught him in a head scissors and hit him with a huracanrana. Lee then landed three dropkicks on ignition. This prompted J.P. Steele to come to the ring, and while he had the referee distracted, Reckless interfered on behalf of his brother, once again. This allowed Ignition to hit Lee with a belly-to-back suplex and get the win. After the match, Saints of Twilight attacked Lee and even used the kendo stick on him. However, Lee?s good friend, ?Third Generation Superstar? Max McGuirk, stormed the ring to make the save.

?Terrific? Tim Rockwell v. ?Luxembourg Beast? Dirty Dutch Hagen

In was announced before the match, that if Rockwell were to win, he would receive a shot at the TAP Oklahoma Heritage title at a later event. Rockwell tried to get the early advantage by attacking Hagen, but he ran into a big boot for his efforts. Hagen followed up with a tremendous top-rope European uppercut. He followed that up with a body slam, a fall-away slam, and a double-underhook suplex that had Rockwell leave the ring to re-assess his game plan. Hagen, who was pumped, followed Rockwell out of the ring, which gave the Texan the opening he needed as he began to pummel Hagen once he entered the ring. Rockwell, of course, resorted to his cheating tactics that have made him a multi-promotional champion, and he Hagen with a huge neckbreaker. Rockwell then took time to admire his handy-work, which allowed Hagen to make a brief comeback before a throat chop by Rockwell. Rockwell almost hit the grapevine DDT, but Hagen was able to reverse it. In turn, Hagen almost hit Rockwell with the Dutch Oven, but Rockwell was able to reverse it as well, showing how well the two competitors knew each other. However, when Rockwell slithered out of the Dutch Oven, he seemed to have injured his knee. The referee was asking Hagen to step back, while he checked on Rockwell?s condition, thus, giving Richard Pearce time to hand the cowbell to Rockwell. Pearce then went to the other side of the ring to distract the referee, giving Rockwell the opportunity to hit Hagen with the cowbell. Rockwell then made the easy cover and got the victory, thereby, earning a shot at Hagen?s TAP Oklahoma Heritage title. After the match, it was revealed that Richard Pearce is now the new manager for ?Terrific? Tim Rockwell.

FOUR-WAY ELIMINATION MATCH:
Ty Thunder v. ?The Gun Show? Rick Russo v. Evan Newcastle v. ?Third Generation Superstar? Max McGuirk

After all four men squared off, Russo attacked McGuirk, and so Ty Thunder immediately began to pound on Evan Newcastle. After a few quick shots, Thunder hit Newcastle with a spinning heel kick. Russo continued his beating on McGuirk. Thunder, then, tried to hit Newcastle with a top-rope moonsault, but Newcastle moved out of the way. Thunder was able to make a mid-air adjustment, and he landed on his feet. However, Newcastle landed a monster clothesline, which gave him the opportunity to inflict some punishment on Thunder. By this time, McGuirk and Russo had taken their fight to the outside of the ring. McGuirk nailed Russo with a dropkick, which may not have been wise, considering the floor on the outside had no padding. In the meantime, Newcastle continued to pound away on Thunder. Russo felt the need to continue fighting McGuirk on the outside and gave him a back suplex onto the floor, followed by a submission hold. Thunder had finally regained control of Newcastle, and Russo and McGuirk had finally returned to the ring. McGuirk finally had the upperhand on Russo again, but it was short-lived, as Newcastle began to attack McGuirk. Thunder decided to turn his attention to Russo, which turned out to be a big mistake, as Russo hit a flying elbow off the top rope onto Thunder. Newcastle and McGuirk were still fighting, when McGuirk got a backslide on Newcastle, thereby, eliminating him from the match. Max began to attack Russo again, but from the back came J.P. Steele, Saints of Twilight, and a masked man going by the name of El Grande Jabroni, which, obvious to nearly everyone in attendance, was Michael York. Saints of Twilight and El Grande Jabroni began to attack McGuirk, but luckily, Justin Lee returned the favor and made the save once again. Russo continued to pound on Thunder, and McGuirk followed Lee to the dressing room, eliminating him from the match. Thunder was finally able to get the upperhand on Russo, by hitting him with a flipping neckbreaker. He followed up with a Shooting Star Press, which he calls Thunderstruck, and got the victory.

WINNER: Ty Thunder

TAP ADRENALINE TITLE MATCH
David Kyzer v. Richie Adams

The match began with some quick armbars and reversals that one would witness in a luchadore-style match. However, Kyzer hit Adams with a dropkick that sent the champion to the outside of the ring. Kyzer made the mistake of chasing Adams out of the ring, which gave Adams the upperhand, once Kyzer tried to enter the ring again. Kyzer mounted a comeback, and nearly got a three count following a stalling vertical suplex, but the champion was able to kick out before the three count. Kyzer nearly got the pin again after a big splash in the corner, followed by a neckbreaker. However, Kyzer got too comfortable and went for a flying-elbow off the top rope. Adams moved, and he was once again on the offensive. Adams nearly got the rope with a hangman?s DDT. Kyzer showed his resiliency though, and he was able to gain an advantage with an ankle lock submission hold. Adams reversed it with an awkward-looking, but effective, triangle choke. Kyzer was able to reverse the triangle and get Adams in the ankle-lock, once again. Richard Pearce appeared on the apron again, and threw the belt to Adams while the referee wasn?t looking. Pearce, then, distracted the referee, which drew Kyzer?s attention as well. Adams hit Kyzer with the title belt, followed by a DDT, which gave him the victory. Rockwell returned to the ring, and he and Adams began a two-on-one attack on Kyzer. Hagen then came out and made the save, which sent Rockwell, Adams, and Pearce on the run. Hagen then asked Kyzer to be his tag-team partner, at the July 17, show against Rockwell and Adams. Rockwell agreed to accept the match, with the stipulation that the winners get to pick the stipulations for the match between Rockwell and Hagen for the TAP Oklahoma Heritage title. Kyzer and Hagen gladly accepted. It seems as if Richard Pearce, Tim Rockwell, and Richie Adams are the newest faction in TAP.

TAP HEAVYWEIGHT TRIPLE-THREAT ELIMINATION TITLE MATCH
Canadian Red Devil v. ?Mr. Endurance? Sugar Shane Morbid v. Reckless (w/J.P. Steele, Ignition, & El Grande Jabroni)

Morbid and Canadian Red Devil began the match by beating on Reckless. The duo took turns stomping their opponent. Morbid then hit a Senton bomb, while CRD followed up with a double-knee to the chest. CRD almost pinned Reckless after Reckless had sent Morbid flying to the outside of the ring. However, Morbid quickly re-entered the ring and kicked CRD, which was a foolish move, as Reckless would have been eliminated. CRD then exited the ring, and Morbid began to pounce on Reckless, like before. After several big shots by Morbid, Reckless exited the ring and found himself at the mercy of CRD. CRD and Morbid got into a confrontation before turning their sights, once again, on Reckless. However, the truce didn?t last long as Morbid and CRD began fighting with each other again. CRD threw Morbid out of the ring, and he nearly got the pin on Reckless again. While on the outside, Morbid took it upon himself to attack Ignition. Once back in the ring, Morbid took turns with CRD putting submission maneuvers on Reckless. Then, while Shane had a submission applied, CRD came from behind and put Morbid in a sleeper hold. This gave Reckless a chance to recuperate, and he hit Morbid with a Thunderous chop that could be felt throughout the building. CRD exited the ring, once more, and he went to the dressing room to get the toy car that Pennywise had driven to the ring earlier in the evening. He attacked Steele, Ignition, and El Grande Jabroni with the toy, then unmasked El Grande Jabroni to reveal that it was, indeed, Michael York. To avoid being in further trouble with the Oklahoma Boxing Commission, York quickly ran to the dressing room. CRD then turned his attention back to Ignition and Steele, leaving Morbid and Reckless in the ring. CRD returned to the ring shortly after and applied the sharpshooter to Reckless. It didn?t last long, as Morbid broke the move up quickly. CRD exited the ring, yet again, and Morbid began to beat on Reckless, who also ended up on the outside of the ring. CRD took the opportunity to put Reckless back in the sharpshooter. Ignition tried to help his brother, Reckless, but CRD began to beat on him, too, and the two men fought to the dressing room. CRD barely returned to the ring before the ten-count. CRD was able to get Morbid in the figure-four leg lock, and uncharacteristically used the ring ropes for added leverage. CRD then broke the figure-four and tried to get Morbid in the sharpshooter, but Reckless rolled CRD up in a schoolboy pin, and nearly eliminated the masked man. Steele then pulled CRD out of the ring, so CRD threw Steele into the ring and hit him with the Faceplant From Hell. Then, Morbid hit Steele with the dreaded Barnaby Jones clothesline. While Reckless and Morbid fought in the ring, CRD rolled Steele toward the dressing room on the toy car of Pennywise, but before taking him through the curtain, he stopped and body slammed Steele on the bare floor. CRD continued dragging Steele to the back, which ended up getting him eliminated via countout. In the meantime, Ignition returned to ringside, and while Reckless had Morbid pinned, Ignition held Morbid?s foot preventing him from being able to kick out and giving the victory to Reckless. Reckless will go into TAP?s July 17 show having been champion for a year, which is an impressive feat.

After the match, Morbid challenged Reckless to a match at the July 17 show for the TAP Heavyweight title. Morbid made the stipulation that if he loses, he?ll tear up his TAP contract and never wrestle for Tornado Alley Pro, again. Reckless gladly accepted the challenge.
