Legendary Oklahoma Tag Team to reunite July 15

Former SRPW & Mid-South Tag Team Champions Northern Threat, Luc Lapointe & Dexter Hardaway, will reunite in Sapulpa on July 15 to take on Bobby Dalton & SRPW X Division Champion Kenny Campbell.

In recent weeks, Dexter had taken Bobby under his wing and attempted to mold him into a better wrestler. But a series of losses, starting with their elimination from the SRPW Tag Team tournament, led to Dexter walking out on Bobby in a match on June 18. Dexter then proposed that he & Bobby settled their differences in a 1-on-1 match. The match was very even, but towards the end, Dexter?s old partner Luc came to the ring and interfered. He then proposed to reunite Northern Threat and take out Bobby Dalton. Dexter, although hesitant, agreed.

Luc & Dexter formed Northern Threat on July 28, 2002 in OCW after Luc?s former tag team partner, Jean Paul, left the business. While they were moderately successful in OCW, they never won the tag team titles together there. They did win the Mid-South Tag Team Titles in Oklahoma City from the Forsaken, but later lost them back. On Nov 16, 2003, Northern Threat defeated X-Cal in a handicap match when his partner Tarantula did not show up for a mandatory title defence. But their title reign was short lived, as the very next week, Rick Vyper brought Ian St. James and Rengade out and won the titles.

Could this be the beginning of a resurgance of Canadian power in SRPW? There?s already hints of instability in the group, as Luc?s valet, Lily McKenzie, does not trust Dexter. No official comment has been received from SRPW Women?s Champion Leather regarding her position on this reunion.
