8-7 WWE RAW
Ric Flair comes to the ring with a copy of "Foley is Good". He says he was born in Memphis, TN (where RAW was broadcasting from this night). He says he spent 10 years trying to make Mick Foley stand up and be a man. He doesn't want to look like, dress like or be like Foley. He says someone told him to read "Foley is Good.". He takes his copy of the book and stomps on it, elbow drops it, knee drops it and then throws it into the crowd after ripping out 1 page. He says that's what he thinks of the book, except for 1 page. He says deep inside, Mick Foley is a Ric Flair fan. On page 169 in Foley's book, it lists Foley's picks for the top 10 matches of all time. #1 is 1989: Ric Flair vs. Terry Funk in an "I Quit" Match. This wasn't a stuntfest or a bloodbath. He says there must be 1 of 2 reasons why Foley won't wrestle Flair: 1. He dosn't think he can beat Flair or 2. He KNOWS he can't beat Flair. Mick Foley comes out. He says that Flair is right, he idolised Flair. He says the "I Quit" match was the greatest match ever. He says Flair was better than he ever was. He agrees that they can't stand each other., but they know that if Mick Foley and Ric Flair were to have a match, the Summerslam PPV would have its real main event. This would put Flair back at the top of his game. Foley says he just can't allow that to happen. He says 12 years ago in WCW, Flair could have made Foley's dreams come true. Instead, he stepped on them. Now, Foley is the guy standing in front of Flair's dreams. Foley made a promise to himself to never help Flair. His contract specifies that he wrestles who he wants, when and where he wants and he's not wasting a match on Flair. So unless Flair has something else to offer, Foley invites Flair, WWE and Vince McMahon to kiss his ass. Flair goes nuts and begs Foley to just be a man and accept the match. Foley makes some new promises. He vows to kick Flair's ass for embarrassing him on RAW last week. He promises to kick Flair's teeth in for disrespeciting Melina. And for making Foley realise that Flair was nothing more than a piece of crap, Foley will agree to face Flair in an "I Quit" Match at the Summerslam PPV. Foley says that in a career of great matches, this may be Flair's greatest. It might also be Flair's last. Flair says "May one of us bleed to death in Boston."

Jim Cornette comes out of his office to meet with Jeremy Borash and Eric Young. Larry Zbyszko has just announced that he added Jay Lethal to the NWA World X Division Title match at the Hard Justice PPV at Cornette's request, turning it into a Triple Threat Match also involving Petey Williams and Champion Senshi. Cornette asks Young what his name is. Young pauses, confused, then stammers his name. Cornette says that it will just get harder as time goes on. He says there will be a meeting later and Jeremy Borash can keep the cameras around if he likes. Cornette then stares at Zbyszko's toupee and goes back into his office.
After Homicide defeats NWA World Tag Team Champion Christopher Daniels, the rest of LAX triple team Daniels until fellow World Tag Team Champion A. J. Styles comes out with a chair to drive them away.
Eric Young has his meeting with Jim Cornette. He gives Cornette some Wendy's hamburgers, 2 bottles of alcohol (1 from Tennessee & 1 from Kentucky.) and a tennis racket with a handmade cover, which features the initials "JC" in diamonds. Cornette says he's on a diet so he can't eat the burgers. He can't drink the alcohol because of all the nutcases running around TNA and he can't stand tennis rackets anymore. He tells Young that the Paparazzi are pissing him off, so he sets up another match for the Hard Justice PPV: Eric Young vs. Johnny Devine. He says he wants a winner. Referee Slick Johnson then comes to escort Cornette to the ringside area for the Christian Cage/Scott Steiner match, where Cornette will serve as a guest commentator.
NWA World Champion Jeff Jarrett intereferes in the Christian Cage/Scott Steiner match. He puts Cage in the Scorpion Deathlock and the lights go out. When they come back on, Sting has Jarrett in the Scorpion. He then throws Steiner and Jarrett out of the ring. Cage hands Sting the NWA World Title belt and they embrace as the show ends.
Throughout the show, retrospective vignettes covering the Jarrett/Sting feud were shown as a build up to their match at the Hard Justice PPV.
