Texas, Inc./Old School Express: It's All Blown Up

The Maximum Wrestling Alliance, hosting a packed house, saw the fued between Texas, Inc. and the Old School Express get completely out of control. Amidst special guests (whom shall remain nameless, since I haven't gotten their permission to list them) and the returning "Mr. Saturday Night" Michael Barry, the MWA delivered a "hearty" performance, just a little over a week prior to Valentine's day.

"Terrific" Tim Rockwell (w/Big Stevie Caballero) v. "Big Country" Jake Boulder

Talking to Jake before the show, I knew he wasn't his normal self. He was all business, and rightfully so, as he was going against the former MWA Heavyweight champion. This match lit the fuse on not only a dynamite show, but an explosive fued that has been brewing, since it was revealed that a member of Texas, Inc. (disguised as the masked Longhorn Assassin) cost the Old School Express the Southern Tag-Team Titles against the, now-defunct, Gentlemen Thugs late last year. Rockwell utilized both Caballero and the cow bell, which made a pretty good impression on Jake Boulder's head, to squeek out the victory in this match. Later in the evening, a fired-up OSE demanded a match with Texas, Inc., in which Director of Operations, Raymon Downey, gladly obliged.

Winner: "Terrific" Tim Rockwell (w/Big Stevie Caballero)

"Darling" Dustin Heritage v. Canadian Red Devil

Spilling over from their tag-team confrontation last month, Heritage and CRD picked up right where they left off. The Jet-Setters (Heritage & "Handsome" Jack Legacy) have been riding high (mile-high according to their new shirt) since winning the Southern Tag-Team titles from the Old School Express and getting a victory over the Compound Varsity (CRD & "Broken Arrow Bad Boy" Justin Lee). However, the mile-high tour must be taking its toll on the Jet-Setters, as CRD was able to get the coveted "W" against the man billed as 215 pounds of man pretty.

Winner: Canadian Red Devil

"Handsome" Jack Legacy v. "Broken Arrow Bad Boy" Justin Lee

With the other halves of their respective teams having already fought, Legacy and Lee decided to take the fight to each other. Legacy was trying to avenge the loss by his teammate in the previous match, while Lee was trying to ride the momentum that was set by CRD. The Compound Varsity came prepared to fight, however, as Lee was able to get the victory against the "Toast of the Coast."

Winner: "Broken Arrow Bad Boy" Justin Lee

Texas, Inc. ("Terrific" Tim Rockwell & Bernard Funk, w/Big Stevie Caballero) v. Old School Express ("Space Cowboy" Jason Jones & "Big Country" Jake Boulder)

Having obliged the OSE's demands for a fight against Texas, Inc., I bet Raymon Downey didn't forsee exactly how violent this match was going to be. Technical wrestling was sent packing, while fists, kicks, and other street fighting techniques were utilized to their fullest. After Texas, Inc. got the victory against OSE, by again using the cowbell, an all-out brawl ensued. that had to be broken up by the referees, security, and the other wrestlers in the back. Trust me, this fued is far from over.

Winners: Texas, Inc. ("Terrific" Tim Rockwell & Bernard Funk, w/Big Stevie Caballero)

MWA Heavyweight Championship Match
"Mr. Saturday Night" Michael Barry v. Blake Albright

For those that don't remember, Barry is the man that cost Albright the Heavyweight title at the MWA inaugural show in the finals of the title tournament. Shortly after that, Barry disappeared because of an injury. After Albright won the title from "Terrific" Tim Rockwell, it provided the exact bait he needed to lure "Mr. Saturday Night" back into the ring. Barry showed no ring rust, as he went right at the champion, like only Michael Barry can do. However, the young Blake Albright would be able to thwart Barry's efforts and retain the Heavyweight title. Afterwards, it looked like Barry was going to show some class by offering Albright a congratulatory hand shake. Instead, Barry delivered the Saturday Night Special twice, once on the belt and a couple of chair shots that left the champion incapacitated.

Winner: Blake Albright

Loser Leaves MWA for 90 Days
X-Cal & Cast-Iron Cothern v. El Super Colibri & "Mr. Endurance" Sugar Shane Morbid

After deciding that the MWA wasn't big enough for X-Cal, Cothern, Colibri, and Morbid, DO Raymon Downey decided that the two teams would fight to determine the right to stay in the MWA. This was a fight two months in the making, as X-Cal has been a thorn in Colibri's side while Cothern turned his back on Morbid, ending one of the best tag teams in Oklahoma wrestling. Though both teams were determined to continue their tenure in the MWA, it would be Colibri and Morbid that would persevere, sending the duo of X-Cal and Cothern packing their bags.

Winners: El Super Colibri & "Mr. Endurance" Sugar Shane Morbid

Old School Express and Texas, Inc. will definitely be looking to re-convene where they left off, as will Blake Albright and "Mr. Saturday Night" Michael Barry. Also, we will be able to see if the Compound Varsity still have the numbers of the Jet-Setters. It will take place on March 6, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. in Spavinaw, OK at the Spavinaw School Gym, 100 Lake Avenue. Just $5 per ticket!! Kids 5 & Under are free!!! Be there!!

Oh, and that's my two-cents worth,
J.W. McGillicutty
